For Sangam Sweets, we did not just design a store; we translated the essence of tradition into a modern retail rhythm. Discover how we reinterpreted heritage elements to create an immersive, soulful customer experience.

We deconstructed the form of a traditional Indian column to create these unique display and service units. Sliced vertically, it becomes a retail display; sliced horizontally, it serves as a standing table for customers.

The billing and display counter features metal inlay details inspired by the column concept. This unit was designed to beautifully showcase the store's wide range of Pan-Indian sweets behind a clean, modern facade.

The seating area continues the architectural theme. The custom chairs feature a backrest inspired by traditional arches, and the delicate metal frames above the seating echo the filigree work found in historic Indian design.

A wider view of the seating area, where delicate metal arches frame the space in a gesture of invitation. The design creates intimate zones within the larger store, encouraging customers to sit and enjoy their treats.

This video shows the concept development for the store's exterior sign. A traditional wrought-iron Kadhai with swirling jalebis was designed to beckon passersby, translating the essence of the brand into a single, iconic image.

An early rendering of the Sangam Sweets store, showing our vision for a sustainable and artisan-focused design. We researched and used materials like banana fiber and worked with local artisans for Bidri and Kasuthi embroidery.

This rendering illustrates the store's layout, where modern, deconstructed pillars are placed alongside traditional display columns. The curved lighting element symbolizes "Sangam," or coming together, a core concept of the brand.

About Commercial Spaces: The Sangam Sweets Story

Designing a retail space is not about filling a floor plan; it is about creating a conversation between your brand heritage and the customer movement. For Sangam Sweets, we did not just place counters. We deconstructed traditional pillars, slicing them to serve as functional display units and standing tables, so that every inch of the shop feels like a continuation of the brand story.

We believe commercial architecture must hold a soul. In the Sangam Sweets project, our goal was to bridge the gap between traditional Indian craftsmanship and modern retail efficiency. Sustainability was at the forefront of this journey. We incorporated materials like banana fiber and water hyacinth, and even repurposed scrapped kitchen utensils into storefront identity markers. The 'Sangam' or coming together concept is visible in our curved lighting and the harmonious blend of historic pillar motifs with deconstructed, modern elements.

Whether it is the sea-green flooring that guides customers inward or the metal-inlay billing counters, every detail invites the visitor to linger. We do not just build shops; we create narratives that stay with your customers long after they leave. If you are looking to turn your commercial space into a dialogue, let us talk about your vision.

I am Leanne. My studio is where we stop treating architecture as construction and start treating it as a story. With the Sangam Sweets project, we proved that retail design can be emotional, sustainable, and entirely unique to your brand roots.
