Architectural Details and Materiality
We believe a building’s character lies in its details. From the texture of natural stone to the precise joinery of custom metalwork, we craft architecture that feels honest, tactile, and intentional.
The dual-tone facade of the U-L-I Residence combines a subtle French Beige marble on the lower level with a distinctive rust-painted finish above. This contrast in material and color emphasizes the building's different volumes.
A close-up of the French Beige marble cladding on Stone Boulevard. The image highlights the natural veining of the stone and the precise joinery between panels, showcasing our commitment to material quality and craftsmanship.
A detail shot of the Franklin Residence, showing the junction of three different materials: red brick, a black metal screen, and smooth white plaster. The clean lines and careful composition create a visually interesting architectural detail.
The curved corner of The Afyon Pavillion, clad in Afyon Grey marble. This detail demonstrates the technical skill required to apply a rigid material to a fluid form, resulting in a sophisticated and elegant facade.
An arched wooden door set within an exposed brick wall at the Samavana wedding venue. This detail combines traditional forms and materials to create a rustic yet refined aesthetic.
A detail of the custom-fabricated metal staircase at the Jayanagar Residence. The simple, clean lines of the steel and the warm tone of the wooden treads create a modern and functional design element.
A circular opening cut into a concrete wall at the Franklin Residence, framing a view of a tree. This simple geometric intervention acts as a focal point, turning a simple wall into a piece of architectural art.
About this collection
Our technical process focuses on GFC (Good for Construction) drawings that detail every intersection where materials meet, such as the junction between exposed brick and metal screens. This specific attention to technical documentation mitigates site-level errors, ensuring the material texture envisioned during the design phase is exactly what you experience in the built reality.
Materiality is the language of architecture. When we design a facade, we consider how sunlight will play across different surfaces over the course of the day. Using honest materials like French Beige marble, red brick, and steel requires a deep understanding of how they age and weather in the local climate.
Precision is our method. Whether we are detailing a curved wall clad in Afyon Grey marble for the Afyon Pavillion or retrofitting a steel staircase in a Jayanagar residence, we prioritize structural integrity and aesthetic alignment. We provide detailed BOQ specifications for finishes to prevent the common issue of contractor substitution, ensuring that the visual quality you see in our renders translates to the built site.
Our approach to junctions, the point where materials meet, defines the longevity and visual impact of our projects. At the Franklin Residence, we focused on the clean lines where plaster meets brick and metal screens, creating intentional focal points. At Samavana, the marriage of traditional wood and modern brick demonstrates our commitment to creating spaces that feel both refined and rooted in local context.

We are Harsha and Shyamanta. We view architecture not as construction, but as the art of shaping memories through light, shadow, and texture. Our practice is built on a simple premise: if a design does not spark a genuine feeling, it is not finished. We work closely with our clients to ensure that every structure feels connected to its place and its people.
