Architectural Design Process & Concept Development
We believe a space is born from a rigorous conversation between geometry, light, and material. This is how we translate raw concepts into functional environments.
An axonometric drawing of the Lucknow penthouse. This diagram illustrates the core concept of a continuous wooden element that weaves through the space to form partitions and ceiling features.
A conceptual diagram showing the geometric logic of the 'lantern' partitions in the Lucknow penthouse. The drawing reveals the underlying structure that creates the maze-like pattern of wooden beams.
An early spatial diagram for the Lucknow penthouse, showing the placement of the freestanding wooden partition 'pods' to define different functional areas within the open-plan layout.
An architectural section drawing for a residence, illustrating how different levels and spaces connect to a central courtyard. The colors denote different materials and zones, including outdoor yoga areas.
A conceptual render for a kindergarten, designed with floating, shifting volumes in bright primary colors. The design creates a series of interconnected open courts and play areas to encourage exploration.
Another view of the kindergarten concept, showing how a red mesh staircase and a cantilevered blue classroom create a dynamic and playful architectural environment for children.
A construction photo from the Lucknow penthouse, showing the raw wooden framework for the partitions being installed against the black stone floor, revealing the skeleton of the design.
About From Concept to Construction
We do not hand over a static blueprint and walk away. Our design process is an iterative dialogue, which means you will see your project evolve through spatial diagrams and sketches before a single brick is laid. This collaborative approach ensures that the final structure balances your functional needs with the architectural logic we establish during the early planning stages.
From Abstract Idea to Built Reality
Architecture is not about filling a room; it is about carving out atmosphere. Our process begins long before construction, focusing on how volume, light, and materiality will interact in your specific environment.
The Design Journey
-
Conceptual Logic: Every project starts with a core idea. We develop spatial diagrams to understand how your site—whether it is a penthouse in Lucknow or an office in Delhi—can be reimagined. We look at circulation, light paths, and the 'in-between' spaces that most designers overlook.
-
Technical Visualization: We use axonometric drawings and 3D modeling to test these ideas. This helps us visualize the relationship between a partition wall and a ceiling feature, or how a specific light source will animate a surface. We test structural feasibility here to avoid surprises on-site.
-
Material & Fabrication: We translate these drawings into fabrication specifications. Whether it is custom metal joinery, lime plaster textures, or complex wooden screens, our 'Good For Construction' drawings provide precise instructions for site teams and specialized vendors.
Why Process Matters
By the time we move to the build phase, the technical and aesthetic decisions are already resolved. This minimizes ambiguity and prevents the common issues of mid-project changes. We treat your space as a living entity, ensuring that the final execution respects the integrity of the original design concept.
Studio Array
I am Rachit Srivastava, and at Studio Array, I treat every floor plan as a living document. We don't simply decorate; we shape how light and volume behave within your walls to create an atmosphere that feels inherently yours.
