Meet us, Nihal Moosa and Kalyani Tare, the founders of Studio Amaavi. In this clip, we walk you through one of our projects and share our design philosophy. We discuss how we use materials like glass and mirrors to enhance natural light and create a sense of spaciousness.

This is a glimpse of the client lounge in our own studio. We designed it to be a living showcase of our style, featuring curved sofas, a mix of textures, and carefully selected decor that embodies the luxurious and comfortable feel we bring to our projects.

Our Design Philosophy & Studio Story

This living room is a space where form meets flow, and every curve invites connection. We designed this room to make a statement without saying a word, using bold, sculptural furniture in a sleek black-and-white palette to anchor the space. It creates a dynamic yet inviting hub for social moments, embodying our belief in quiet luxury.8
In the master bedroom, a grand four-poster bed nods to Kerala’s architectural roots, bringing its influence full circle. The rest of the space unfolds in quiet gestures: sunlight diffused through sheer drapes, soft rust against layers of white, and warm wood meeting pale walls. Nothing shouts, nothing jars; everything here is in service of stillness.
A pattern-perfect living room that is a study in restrained elegance. We believe in layering textures, clean forms, and quiet luxury to create a space that feels both timeless and lived-in. Here, a pleated sofa, a brass-finished coffee table, and an ancestral bronze statue come together in quiet harmony.

This 20,000 sq. ft. bespoke mansion is a testament to our architectural vision, where scale meets soul. We designed this contemporary home with a layered play of clean lines, earthy textures, and sculpted greenery, creating a structure that is bold yet grounded, and expansive yet intimate.7
We designed this 6,000 sq. ft. residence as a masterclass in modern luxury. The living space is anchored by hand-picked, stone-inspired wall panels that act as art, juxtaposed with clean-lined furniture. It's a space crafted for both grand entertaining and quiet contemplation.
This master suite embodies our love for quiet opulence and bespoke craftsmanship. The custom-contoured headboard creates a soft, fluid focal point, while a palette of hushed neutrals and rich textures fosters a sense of deep comfort and calm.

This restored fresco became the heart of a double-height foyer, grounding the home with calm authority. We brought these hand-painted panels back to life, pairing them with a bold black bench to create an entrance that feels both welcoming and quietly striking.10
This living room is a perfect example of a soulful sanctuary. The burnt orange sofa adds a pop of warmth, while the custom open shelving and soft textiles create a space that is designed for comfort, not just for show.
A bedroom should be a retreat. Here, we used a soft, muted color palette, layered textures with a custom upholstered headboard, and added fluted paneling to create a serene space that feels like a gentle embrace at the end of the day.
In this open-plan home, we designed a dining area that is both vibrant and practical. The custom blue bench with built-in storage and a wall of mirrors makes the space feel larger, brighter, and full of personality.
