Architectural Exterior Design and Concept Planning
Beautiful homes begin with a strong foundation. We design building exteriors and architectural concepts that ensure a seamless, luxurious flow from the street to your living space.
This is the architectural design for 'Istana,' an upcoming luxury apartment building in Mysore. We designed the facade to be modern and striking, using a mix of grey tones, marble cladding, and wood-look louvers to create a sophisticated and contemporary landmark.
This video pans across a minimalist living space, showcasing the clean, all-white furniture and the subtle play of light and shadow. The use of fluted glass partitions and abstract art creates a gallery-like feel that is both modern and serene.

About this collection
When we approach an architectural facade, like the one we designed for 'Istana' in Mysuru, we focus on the relationship between weather resilience and aesthetic appeal. We use materials like grey marble cladding and wood-look louvers not just for the look, but to manage light and privacy effectively. A good exterior sets the stage for the luxury interior waiting inside, and our goal is to make that transition feel natural and cohesive.
Our architectural work is an extension of our design philosophy: quiet luxury. We believe that a building should reflect the lifestyle of the people living inside.
The Outside-In Approach
Many designers treat the exterior and interior as two separate projects. We prefer to view them as a continuous narrative. Whether it is a luxury apartment building or a villa, we plan the structure to optimize natural light, airflow, and privacy before we ever place a piece of furniture.
Material Selection
We choose materials based on longevity and how they age in local climates. For our projects in Bengaluru and Mysuru, we often combine stone cladding, metallic inlays, and architectural louvers.
- Stone and Marble: Used for structural accents to add weight and permanence.
- Wood-look Louvers: These provide a modern, warm finish that stands up well to heavy monsoon and sun exposure.
- Glass and Steel: Strategically used to open up the facade while maintaining security and privacy.
Concept Development
Before we begin construction or renovation, we create conceptual designs. This is where we explore ideas like merging two apartments into a single penthouse or creating double-height living areas. These concepts help us visualize the structural possibilities early on, ensuring that the final build is as functional as it is striking. Whether it is a new luxury project or a renovation, we focus on building homes that are built to last and designed to impress.
Studio Amaavi
We are Nihal and Kalyani, the founders of Studio Amaavi. We believe a home’s story begins at the front door, so we design exteriors that match the luxury waiting inside. Our work is all about finding the balance between a building's structure and the comfort of the people who live there.
