Indoor-Outdoor Living: Blending Home with Nature
We believe your home should breathe. Our designs blur the lines between inside and out, creating spaces that feel connected to the world around you.
The deck area of the Aikaa show villa, which spills out from the home theatre. It's a perfect example of creating a fluid connection between indoor entertainment and outdoor relaxation.
One of our favorite cozy spots in the Pràna house. The large corner window frames the garden like a living painting, making you feel surrounded by greenery even when you're inside.
A view from a bedroom in the Pràna house, looking out onto the lush garden. We designed the home so that every room has a beautiful connection to the outdoors.
A glimpse of the garden at Pràna, a tranquil oasis in the middle of Bangalore. The landscaping was as important as the interior design in creating the home's overall feel.
The exterior of the Pràna house, showing the deep overhangs in exposed cement and the seamless connection to the garden. The architecture is designed to embrace the landscape.
Another view of the home's exterior, where the simple material palette of cement and wood allows the lush greenery to be the star.
Waking up to this view every morning. The bedroom opens directly onto the garden, blurring the line between the sleeping area and the natural world outside.
The terrace dining area at Pràna, shaded by a wooden pergola. The dappled sunlight filtering through creates a beautiful, calming atmosphere for outdoor meals.
This living room corner at Pràna is a testament to bringing the outdoors in. The large windows and indoor plants make the space feel like a serene, sophisticated conservatory.
The upper terrace at Pràna, a perfect spill-out space for hosting parties. The slatted wooden screen provides privacy while allowing light and air to filter through.
About Indoor-Outdoor Living
Creating that seamless transition is not just about big windows. We pay deep attention to the spill-out zones, like deep overhangs in exposed cement or using a simple material palette to let the garden outside become the feature wall. It is about ensuring that when you step onto your terrace or open your bedroom doors, the space feels like a continuation, not a separation.
When we talk about indoor-outdoor living, we are not just talking about balconies. It is about how the architecture breathes. In our Pràna project in Koramangala, we worked closely with the landscape, letting century-old mango and coconut trees dictate the views from every room.
Design Philosophy
We use a mix of raw materials like exposed cement, natural Kota stone, and warm wood. These elements do not compete with the greenery; they act as a neutral frame. When you step into the master bathroom or sit in the living room, you see how we prioritize floor-to-ceiling glass and private terraces to invite natural light and air deep into the house.
Practical Comfort
It is not all just aesthetics. Privacy is a huge concern, especially in dense city pockets like Bangalore. We use slatted wooden screens to provide privacy for upper terraces while still allowing that gorgeous dappled sunlight to filter in. For your private nooks—like that terrace daybed surrounded by plants—we ensure the furniture is durable enough to withstand the elements while being soft enough to curl up with a book and chai.
Whether it is a sunroom, a rooftop pergola, or a bedroom that opens directly into a garden, our goal is the same: to make you feel like you are living in nature, even when you are twenty floors up.
