Our Signature Rooftop and Terrace Designs
We blend precision engineering with clean design to turn your underused terrace into a functional, all-weather living space.
This rooftop is transformed into a private oasis, perfect for unwinding. I designed this space to include a relaxing jacuzzi, a cozy adjoining room, and ambient lighting, all surrounded by lush greenery to create the ultimate escape right at home.
This A-frame prefabricated cabin is one of my signature designs for turning a terrace into a statement. Its unique shape creates a spacious, light-filled room, while the wood-cladding and glass facade blend modern architecture with natural elements.
Namaste everyone. On this penthouse project on the 19th floor, I am showing how I design structures that feel enclosed yet connected to the outdoors. I strategically create openings to frame the city skyline and the setting sun, so you never lose the beautiful view.
Here is a perfect example of a modern rooftop lounge I created. The dark wood pergola, combined with built-in seating and warm, layered lighting, makes for an inviting space to entertain guests or relax with family after a long day.
I can bring any vision to life, like this concept for a tranquil garden escape. This design features a custom pergola with intricate laser-cut screens, a stone-clad seating area, and a peaceful water feature, showing how different materials can create a luxurious feel.
About Featured
Before you add any weight to your roof, we have to talk about the maths. One cubic foot of water or soil adds 27 kgs of load, and standard buildings aren't always designed for that. My process always starts by assessing your terrace structure first. We use lightweight steel frames instead of bricks, so we can build your dream garden or glasshouse without stressing the building columns or dealing with the mess of heavy, traditional construction.
Engineering Your Rooftop Escape
Most people think a terrace upgrade is just about picking pretty furniture, but that’s the fastest way to face maintenance headaches later. At Studio Machaan, we look at your terrace as a part of the house, not just an add-on. Whether you want a climate-controlled glasshouse or a solid garden pergola, the execution happens in three phases:
- The Structural Check: Everything starts with a site visit. We check what your current slab can handle. We use MS Steel and high-density insulation to keep things light and sturdy.
- The Prefab Advantage: We do most of the work off-site. Your rooftop room is ready for assembly in roughly 30 days. No brick-laying, no dust, and minimal noise for you and your neighbours.
Materials That Last
Delhi weather is unforgiving. We don't use standard materials that fade or leak after one monsoon. We use Double Glazed Units (DGU) for glasshouses to keep the heat out, and WPC (Wood Plastic Composite) or high-grade granite for decking that doesn't rot or warp. If I’m building a pergola for you, the paint finish is chosen for rust resistance, and the drainage is integrated from day one so you never deal with water logging.
We design for how you actually live. If you want a morning coffee spot, we plan for the shade. If you want an evening hangout, we map out the lighting so the space feels warm and inviting when the sun goes down. My wife Ruhi ensures every corner looks premium, while I make sure the technicals—drainage, electricals, and load-bearing—are rock solid.
