Ethnic & Bridal Couture Photography
Bringing traditional elegance to life through cinematic lighting. From rich fabric textures to intricate jewelry, I use studio techniques and projection technology to create portraits that feel regal and timeless.
Capturing the essence of regal grace. This stunning bridal portrait was created in the studio with a projected backdrop, with lighting carefully placed to highlight the rich textures and details of the lehenga.
A beautiful blend of modern fashion and minimal art. This shot uses hard, directional light to create dramatic shadows that complement the contemporary drape of the saree.
A timeless jewelry portrait. The lighting is focused on bringing out the brilliance of the emerald necklace and the soft glow of the pearls, set against a clean, high-key background for maximum impact.
This dramatic outdoor portrait of a bride was created by overpowering the sun with a powerful flash. I teach this advanced technique to create a dark, moody background while keeping the subject perfectly lit.
This image captures the simple, unadorned beauty of ethnic grace. The model is set against a projected backdrop of a rustic field, with warm light that mimics a setting sun.
A breathtaking image that radiates royal charm. The model's intricate lehenga choli is lit to perfection against a grand, projected palace backdrop, showcasing a perfect blend of lighting, styling, and technology.
This portrait uses a soft, pastel-colored projected backdrop to complement the delicate pink lehenga. The lighting is equally soft, creating a dreamy, romantic image perfect for bridal lookbooks.
An opulent bridal portrait set against a projected backdrop of a royal chamber. The warm, golden lighting enhances the rich velvet and intricate embroidery of the lehenga.
About Ethnic & Bridal Couture
The secret to a great ethnic portrait isn't just the clothes; it's how you light the textures. In my Noida studio, I often use rear projection to create grand palace backdrops that place you in a royal setting without ever leaving the room. This gives us complete control over the environment and lighting, so we can ensure the rich embroidery of your lehenga or the shine of your jewelry is captured perfectly without any post-production color banding.
Photography is essentially a 'Light ka khel' (game of light). When shooting bridal couture, the challenge is maintaining the integrity of deep, saturated colors like crimson or emerald while ensuring the skin tone remains natural. I use Profoto strobes and Aputure panels to sculpt the light, often employing clamshell setups to create that clean, glowing face without losing the texture of the fabric.
The Projection Technique
Instead of relying on heavy editing or travelling to remote locations, I use advanced projection to build the set around you. Whether you want the mood of a rustic field or the opulence of a royal chamber, we can project that backdrop right here in the studio. It provides a natural depth of field that looks cinematic straight out of the camera.
Technical Precision
I shoot with the Sony A9III, which allows me to sync flash at incredibly high shutter speeds. This is crucial for capturing movement or freezing details in jewelry. My goal is to deliver images that don't just show the outfit, but show the mood—the 'essence' of the attire.
Why Book a Studio Session?
- Full Control: We are not dependent on unpredictable natural light.
- Studio Gear: Access to top-tier equipment like G Master lenses and professional strobes.
- Styling Support: My sessions often include professional hair and makeup coordination to ensure the look is polished.
Whether you are a designer looking to build a collection portfolio or an individual wanting a high-end bridal portrait, we start by understanding the mood of your attire. If you have a specific look in mind, we can discuss the lighting pattern before we even step onto the floor.
