Professional Gear Behind Our Cinematic Portraits
I believe in pairing artistic vision with reliable tech. Here is the hardware we use in our Noida studio to push the limits of fashion and projection photography.
Here I am explaining the massive advantage of the Sony A9III's global shutter. It allows flash sync at any speed up to 1/80000s and eliminates color banding from projectors, which is a game-changer for my work.
Unboxing the game-changing Sony Alpha 9III. I believe in using and teaching with the best, and this camera's global shutter and 8.0-stop image stabilization are truly innovative.
A detailed demonstration of the new Profoto D3 flash. I explain its features, like the incredible flash duration for freezing motion and the 10-stop power range that allows shooting at wide apertures like f/1.4.
A close-up look at the Sony Alpha 9III in action. Its global shutter technology means we can shoot with projected backgrounds without any flicker or color banding, resulting in impeccable shots every time.
This video showcases the Sony Alpha 9III, the world's first full-frame camera with a global shutter. I explain how this technology is breaking through previous barriers in photography, especially for my projection techniques.
About A Look at Our Gear
Most people think the camera does the heavy lifting, but true precision is about eliminating variables. With the Sony A9III, we finally stopped fighting color banding when shooting with projection backdrops because of the global shutter. That gives us cleaner files straight out of the camera, and it means fewer headaches for you during post-production.
Why Technical Gear Matters
Photography is often called the 'Light ka khel' or game of light. To play that game well, you need equipment that doesn't just work, but expands what is possible. My studio in Noida is fully equipped to demonstrate this, and it is where we teach students to move past basic theory.
The Projection Advantage
My signature cinematic projection photography used to be a nightmare to light. Conventional shutters caused banding across the background when projectors were involved. By switching to the Sony A9III with its global shutter, we solved this. The sensor exposes every pixel simultaneously, meaning we get flicker-free backgrounds every time. It allows me to shoot at any shutter speed, giving you that 'outdoor' cinematic look without ever leaving the studio.
Lighting Control with Profoto
We utilize the Profoto D3 for a reason. Most flashes struggle to maintain consistent color and power at the wide apertures (like f/1.4) that fashion photography demands. The D3 gives us a 10-stop range, letting us shoot wide open without needing neutral density filters or pulling the lights halfway across the room. Whether we are doing high-speed beauty shots to freeze movement or setting up soft, clamshell lighting for a glowing complexion, this gear ensures the light does exactly what we tell it to do.
Get Hands-on
You don't need to own this gear to master it. In my workshops, I bring in this full setup so you can see the difference that high-end strobes and the latest Alpha ecosystem make. We shoot with real models, experiment with the limits of these tools, and learn the science behind the visuals.
