Behind the Scenes of Sonarts Custom Art Installations
Creating art is a journey that starts in the studio and ends with a transformation on your wall. Take a look at the process behind my fibre murals, sculptures, and installations.
A short video showing me at work on various projects. From sculpting a Ganesh and painting a Kalpavriksh tree to putting the final touches on a horse mural, this is my passion.
This video shows my team and me setting up for the Bal Samagam exhibition. We created several large-scale models and painted backdrops for this wonderful community event.
About Behind the Scenes
You see the perfect finished wall in photos, but the real magic happens in the dust and sweat of the process. I start every piece by hand-sculpting in clay to get the anatomy and depth right, before we cast it in durable fibre and handle the heavy-duty installation on-site. It is a messy, beautiful journey from a rough sketch to a permanent, glowing feature on your wall.
Every Sonarts piece is more than just a painting; it is a structural installation. When we begin a project, we don't just pick up a brush. We start with design consultations to understand your space, followed by intricate clay modeling to capture the precise textures and 3D reliefs you want, whether it's a 7 Horses mural or a custom world map for your office.
The Sonarts Process
Once the design is approved, we cast the details in high-grade fibre reinforced plastic, or FRP. This material is our go-to because it is sturdy, waterproof, and lightweight enough to mount securely. For larger projects, my team handles the full civil installation, including heavy-duty anchor bolting and wiring for integrated LED backlighting to create those dramatic halo effects you see in our finished work.
From Studio to Space
We don't just hand over a product. My team and I travel to your location to join the panels seamlessly using epoxy putty and final air-brushing to ensure the mural looks like one solid piece of art, not just tacked-on decor. Whether I am working in my Malad studio or on-site at a fest, the goal is always the same: giving your space a new vibe and a soul. If you have a boring wall or a washroom door that needs character, I am here to help you conceptualize and execute it.
