About Project Showcase: The Terra Office
For the main workstation hall, we installed a fluted wooden ceiling to introduce architectural warmth and acoustic depth. It replaces a standard flat grid, turning the overhead view into a key design feature that makes the open-plan area feel grounded rather than clinical.
When designing The Terra Office, the main challenge was to prevent the commercial space from feeling sterile. I chose a palette of rich wood veneers, earthy tones, and travertine-style wall finishes to build a sense of calm. The workstation area uses consistent laminate finishes and integrated wire management to keep surfaces clean, ensuring the environment supports focus without visual clutter.
In the director’s cabin, we moved away from heavy traditional furniture. A round wooden meeting table was placed here to encourage collaborative conversation, while sheer curtains diffuse the natural light, keeping the atmosphere bright yet private. The shelving unit was custom-built with black metal framing and open sections to display personal items, adding personality to the professional setting.
Functionality was the priority in every square foot. Each desk is equipped with ergonomic seating and small planters, as I find that even a tiny touch of greenery reduces stress in a high-pressure office environment.
