About Behind The Scenes
People think being on set is all glamour, but the reality is 10% posing and 90% monitoring. I am constantly watching the screen for sweat, shine, and flyaways to make sure every frame is 4K-ready. It takes a lot of quick thinking and constant touch-ups to keep a look perfect through a grueling 12-hour shoot day.
The images you see here are the result of a massive team effort. When I am on set, whether it is for a magazine cover or a high-energy music video, my primary goal is consistency.
The Reality of Set Life
- 4K Readiness: Cameras pick up everything. I use high-end HD bases from brands like Armani and NARS, applied specifically to handle harsh studio lights without flashback.
- The 'Monitoring' Routine: It is not enough to apply makeup once. I am always glued to the monitor, checking if a strand of hair has moved or if a highlight has become too oily. I am the one running in during 'cut' to fix it before the director shouts 'action' again.
- Collaboration is Key: I am not just there to apply lipstick. I am collaborating with the photographer, the stylist, and the talent. We are all working to build a mood board, and I adjust my techniques—like using specific salt sprays for texture or matte primers for heat resistance—based on the lighting and the vibe of the scene.
It is messy, it is fast-paced, and it is usually exhausting. But when that final shot comes together and looks exactly like the vision we discussed, it is absolutely worth the grind.
