About Behind the Scenes
When I am on set, the makeup chair is where the actual work happens. Before any brush touches your face, we prioritize hydration and specific color-correction techniques to ensure your look stays fresh, whether it is under bright studio lights or at an outdoor event. I do not believe in hiding your skin under heavy layers; I believe in prep that lets your natural texture breathe and glow through the entire day.
My Approach to the Process
People often see the final, polished result on Instagram, but the real magic is in the preparation. Whether we are doing an editorial fashion shoot or getting a bride ready, the process stays consistent. It starts with skin health.
What happens in the chair:
- Hydration First: I use calming toners and niacinamide-based moisturizers. If your skin is thirsty, the makeup will never sit right.
- Targeted Correction: Rather than slapping on thick foundation, I use green color correction to neutralize redness. It saves time and prevents that cakey, heavy feeling.
- The 'Skin-Like' Technique: I use a damp sponge to apply buildable coverage. This is how I achieve that 'lit-from-within' glow while keeping your natural skin tone authentic.
Life on Set
Working on photoshoots and events is chaotic, but it is my happy place. It requires a balance of speed and precision. I work closely with photographers and stylists to ensure the makeup holds up under harsh lights. Sometimes that means balancing a 'soft glam' look for a commercial campaign, and other times it means a bold, snatched eye for a high-fashion look. My goal in these moments is to make you feel confident enough to own the camera.
