Junior Golf Academy in South Delhi
I make learning golf a fun and engaging experience for kids. My junior sessions focus on teaching the fundamentals through games and positive encouragement.
I love teaching kids. We make it fun while focusing on the basics, like putting. Here, I'm helping a young golfer line up his putt, keeping his head steady to improve his accuracy on the green.
This video shows some of the fun group activities we do with our junior golfers. Learning with friends makes the experience even better and helps build a small community of young players.
About Junior Golf Academy
Getting the right equipment early is crucial for young golfers to prevent injury. I always recommend sourcing age-appropriate kits, like those following US Kids Golf standards, before we start their first session. It makes a massive difference in their swing development and comfort on the course.
When I coach kids, my priority is 'basics theek karna' (getting the basics right). We start with the grip and posture—back straight, knee flex—but we break it down into small, digestible pieces so they do not get bored. Learning golf shouldn't feel like a chore.
For children aged 6 to 14, focus and safety are my top priorities. I teach them range safety rules first, so they understand the environment at Siri Fort Driving Range. Once they are comfortable, we move to coordination drills. We spend a lot of time on the putting green, where they can see immediate results, which keeps them motivated.
Many parents ask if group lessons are better than private. Honestly, both have perks. Private lessons are great for 'swing correction' (fixing specific technical issues), while group sessions are fantastic for building a community. They learn by watching each other, and it turns practice into a fun social activity. If you are worried about gear, do not be. We can discuss what size fits your child best so they do not struggle with clubs that are too heavy or too long for their frame.

I am Sonu Kumar, and I spend most of my days at the Siri Fort Driving Range. Coaching kids is where I see the most excitement—when they hit that first clean shot, their energy is contagious. I love keeping things simple, hands-on, and fun for every junior player I train.
