About Summer Camp Experience
We enforce a strict policy on non-marking shoes for all court sessions to ensure safety and floor integrity. Beyond the drills, every student participates in our Team Championship, which is where the real bonding and competitive spirit come alive.
Our approach to summer training at Chembur Gymkhana is designed to move beyond basic repetition. We focus on building a strong foundation, whether you are a beginner picking up a racquet for the first time or a junior player preparing for tournament play. Each 90-minute session is split to ensure a balance between conditioning and actual gameplay.
The Training Structure
We start with 20 to 30 minutes of dedicated fitness work, using agility ladders and cone drills to build the speed and stamina required for modern badminton. The middle section of the camp is technique-heavy, where we work on grip correction, footwork patterns, and stroke mechanics. We do not just teach you how to hit; we teach you how to read your opponent and plan your moves under pressure.
Why the Team Championship matters
We believe that training only happens when you are pushed. Our Team Championship is the highlight of the camp. Participants are divided into teams, creating a sense of camaraderie and accountability. It encourages students to cheer for one another, learn team strategy, and apply what they have learned during the practice sessions in a competitive environment. This structure turns individual training into a team success story.
Getting Started
We provide the nylon shuttles and training aids, but we require every participant to bring their own racquet and wear proper non-marking gum sole shoes. Our 2025 batches are scheduled from April 28 to May 16 and May 19 to June 6. Whether you want to sharpen your smashes or just get active this summer, we ensure you leave the court with more skill and confidence than when you arrived.
