About On-Court Training: Drills and Technique

Our 90-minute sessions blend rigorous conditioning with focused stroke work. You will spend the first half on agility drills and movement patterns, followed by match simulations to test your game sense. Please ensure you have non-marking gum sole shoes, as they are strictly required for entry onto our wooden courts.

Our Training Philosophy

We believe that champions are made, not born. Whether you are picking up a racquet for the first time or training for a state-level tournament, our on-court sessions are designed to push your limits. We move beyond simple rallying to teach you the technical foundations that separate casual players from competitive athletes.

What a Typical Session Includes

  • Agility & Conditioning: Every class starts with 20 to 30 minutes of ladder work, cone drills, and sprinting to build the stamina required for long, intense rallies.
  • Technical Precision: We break down your game, starting with grip correction and footwork patterns, moving into advanced stroke mechanics to ensure you have complete control of your shots.
  • Game Intelligence: The final 30 minutes are dedicated to match simulations. You will learn to read your opponent, plan your moves under pressure, and execute strategy, not just power.

Essential Requirements for Training

  • Footwear: Non-marking gum sole shoes are mandatory. Regular sports shoes will not be allowed on the wooden courts at Chembur Gymkhana.
  • Equipment: Please bring your own badminton racquet. We provide nylon shuttles (Yonex Mavis 350) and other training aids.
  • Attire: Wear appropriate, breathable sportswear that allows for full range of motion during court movement.
