A celebration of art and style, this hand-painted velvet jacket features a musician, making it a perfect statement piece for a sangeet or cocktail evening.

This jacket features a surrealist hand-painted design, blending a cityscape with an artist's eye. It is a bold expression of individuality, crafted for the man who sees his clothing as a canvas.

About The Art of Hand-Painted Wear

Painting directly onto raw silk or velvet demands more than just steady hands, it requires a complete understanding of how fabric behaves with pigment. We develop each design as a one-of-a-kind commission, meaning we sketch and paint the art specifically for your silhouette before the garment is ever cut. Because this artistic process includes essential curing time to ensure the pigment holds, we require at least 6 weeks from your initial consultation to the final delivery.

True wearable art is not printed or mass-produced. When we work on a hand-painted ensemble, we start with raw panels of heavy matka or raw silk. Our artisans apply pigment directly to the fabric, using narratives drawn from Persian history, Sufi poetry, and nature. This creates a depth and texture that digital prints simply cannot match.

The Process

Your involvement begins with a conversation at our Khar West studio. We discuss the narrative you want to wear—whether it is a surrealist cityscape for a cocktail evening or a traditional motif for a wedding. Once the theme is set, we sketch the art. This art is painted on the fabric panels, which are then fused with European structural elements to maintain the shape of the sherwani or jacket. Because we hand-paint, no two jackets are ever identical.

Practical Considerations

  • Timeline: Due to the detailed painting and curing process, we need a 6-week window. Please do not leave this until the last minute.
  • Care: These pieces are investments. Treat them as you would a painting—dry clean only, and store them away from direct sunlight to preserve the vibrancy of the pigments.
  • Versatility: While these ensembles are popular for weddings, they work equally well as statement pieces for sangeet nights or formal milestones. Pair them with our custom kurtas or dhotis to complete the look.

We design for the man who sees his clothing as a canvas. If you have a specific story or visual you want to wear, bring it to the studio. We will help you translate it into a wearable heirloom.
