Residential Foundation & Obedience Training
Residential Facility
- Duration: Mandatory 30-day residential program to ensure consistent behavior shaping.
- Housing: Functional concrete kennels equipped with industrial coolers and fans suitable for high heat. Note: This is a working dog facility with rugged amenities.
- Diet: High-performance mix of commercial kibble and fresh meat/eggs to support active training.
- Schedule: Includes two daily field runs and two structured training sessions per day.
Training Scope
- Focus Heel: Developing intense eye contact with the handler while walking under distraction.
- Drive Building: Usage of tugs and flirt poles to build prey drive as a prerequisite for bite work.
- Agility: Introduction to hurdles for correct jumping form and water exposure for environmental confidence.
Handover
- Transfer: Two mandatory sessions at the end of the month to teach the owner how to handle the dog.
Advanced Personal Protection & Guard Dog Training
Core Protection Skills
- Bite Development: Progression from soft sleeves to hard sleeves to teach full-mouth effective bites.
- Civil Agitation: Training the dog to identify threats without protective equipment (e.g., attackers with sticks).
- Command Control: Includes 'Attack' to trigger aggression, 'Out' for immediate release, and 'Watch' for alert barking.
Scenario Drills
- Night Operations: Training conducted post-sunset to acclimatize the dog to low-light defense scenarios.
- Stress Inoculation: Exposure to loud noises, shouting, and physical threats to desensitize the dog during conflict.
Safety & Handover
- Prerequisites: Dog must pass a stability evaluation before entering this tier.
- Equipment: Utilization of professional bite suits and agitation sticks.
- Handler Course: 3 to 4 sessions covering legal implications and physical handling of a protection dog.
Specialist Scent Detection (Narcotics or Explosives)
Olfactory Conditioning
- Imprinting: Conditioning the dog to recognize specific target odors (Narcotics or Explosive pseudo-scents).
- Discrimination: Use of PVC pipe lineups to teach the dog to ignore distraction odors like food or other animals.
- Indication: Training for 'Passive Indication' (sit/stare) or 'Active Indication' (scratch/bark) upon finding the source.
Operational Environment
- Search Patterns: Systematic search techniques for rooms, vehicles, and luggage.
- Variable Settings: Training in open fields, cluttered rooms, and crowded areas to ensure focus.
Validation
- Methodology: Based on police and military K9 protocols.
- Proofing: Weekly video evidence provided to the client demonstrating the dog locating hidden hides.

Foundation Skills & Breeds
Training starts with advanced obedience - things like the focus heel, even when there’s chaos all around. Agility isn’t just for show, we do wall jumps, water jumps, all the tough stuff needed in the field.
Best results come from high-drive breeds - Belgian Malinois, Dutch Shepherds, Labs - but I’ll assess any dog if you need pro-level K9 training.

My Story
Dogs are my world, no fancy talk. I started Shooter Dog Academy because I saw too many doggos and owners struggling. Training with love, not fear, that’s my thing. Worked with tiny fluff balls and big beasts, even K9 units. Whether your pup’s chewing shoes or a Malinois needs focus, I’m here. At the end, I want every dog to be happy and chill, just like they should be.
