Hand-Painted Indian Art Sneaker Customization

I fuse traditional Indian motifs with modern sneaker culture. From the intricate lines of Kalamkari to the vibrant energy of Truck Art, I turn your favorite pair into a wearable story.

A custom pair of Nike Dunks I painted for the talented musician Rishabh Rikhi Ram Sharma, seen here on a flight. The design is inspired by traditional Indian motifs to reflect his unique blend of classical and modern music.

A detailed shot of the personalized heel, featuring Rishabh's initials 'RRS'. The artwork combines geometric patterns and vibrant colors, reminiscent of Indian textiles.

From a plain grey Nike Dunk to a vibrant masterpiece. This video shows the step-by-step process of painting the intricate, multi-layered Indian art design for Rishabh Rikhi Ram Sharma.

A mismatched pair of PUMAs I painted for the amazing photographer Rohan Shrestha. Each shoe is inspired by a different Indian art form, creating a beautiful and eclectic combination.

This Kalamkari-inspired design was created for Liberty Shoes. The artwork features intricate peacock and floral motifs, typical of this beautiful art form from Andhra Pradesh.

Another design for Liberty Shoes, this one inspired by the classic paisley motifs found in Indian textiles. The rich blues and reds create a timeless and elegant look.

For this Liberty Shoes design, I took inspiration from the geometric weaves of Naga shawls from North East India. The bold, graphic patterns in red, black, and white make a powerful statement.

About this collection

I use pro-grade Angelus leather paints and scratch-proof sealers on every pair, so you do not have to baby these shoes. Whether you are walking the streets or hitting a party, this art is made to handle real life, not just sit on a shelf waiting to be looked at.

I started ShoesYourDaddy because I was tired of boring, mass-produced footwear. Since then, I have been turning sneakers into my canvas. When it comes to Indian art, I do not just copy-paste patterns. I translate the geometry of Naga shawls, the block-printing techniques of Rajasthan's Dabu, and the storytelling of Madhubani into a format that fits your daily rotation.

My process is a bit of a marathon. Every sneaker starts as a clean slate, requiring heavy prep work before I even open a paint tube. I use rapid flash techniques for live event activations, but for commission pieces, I spend hours on layering, heat-setting, and sealing. This ensures the design stays crisp, even if you are wearing them in the Delhi humidity or hitting a festival in Mumbai.

I am a one-woman army, so everything you see is painted, shot, and packed by me. Because each pair is hand-painted, no two designs are ever identical. If you have a specific Indian art form in mind, or if you want to blend your brand's corporate identity with a desi vibe, let me know. I do not do 'fast fashion'—I do art that is meant to be worn down to the soles.

Hi, I am Sugandha. I grew up an oddball who found the footwear around me boring, so I quit my job to start painting my own kicks. I am a self-taught artist, which means when you order from me, you are getting my direct attention, my messy studio process, and my passion for making art that is actually wearable.
