About Our Federation and Community

We do not modify our syllabus for convenience or speed. When you join the OSK Federation, you learn the exact techniques currently taught in Okinawa, Japan. Every year, our instructors make the journey to train directly with the grandmasters, ensuring that the curriculum in our Bangalore dojos remains identical to the source. This is not a shortcut gym. It is a traditional dojo where discipline is the foundation of every class.

I started this federation in 1992 with just 14 students in Bannerghatta. Today, I am proud to see our community grow into one of India’s largest, bound by the discipline of true Okinawan Karate. We aren't just teaching a sport; we are passing down a tradition I learned directly from my teachers in Okinawa.

Here, a group of senior practitioners and I listen to the teachings of Grand Master Zenpo Shimabukuro in his dojo. Learning directly from the head of our style is an invaluable experience.
This is the lineage chart of our Shorin-Ryu Seibukan style. It traces our techniques from the ancient masters of Okinawa directly to my teacher, ensuring the authenticity of what we practice.

The KIO logo, a mark of authenticity. We have over 33 affiliated state units and more than 435 associate member style chiefs, making us the largest official karate body in the country.
I am pleased to announce that the KIO logo is now a registered trademark with the Government of India, further protecting our official status and preventing misuse.

Our dojo is a family, open to everyone. This photo from our Kyu grading at the Marathahalli dojo shows students of all ages and belt levels, from young kids with yellow belts to experienced adults, all training together with focus and a lot of energy.
Hard work pays off, and I couldn't be prouder of my team. This picture was taken after the 13th state-level inter-dojo karate championship, where my students brought home a line of trophies, showcasing their skill in both Kata and Kumite.
