Flamenco Community Gatherings & Student Events
Flamenco is a journey best shared. Whether you're a student or just curious, come experience the warmth of our SCFA familia through film screenings, singing circles, and global tours.
This invitation is for one of our exclusive SCFA student reunions and film screenings in Bandra, Mumbai. These gatherings are a chance for all my students, both past and present, to reconnect with the Flamenco spirit, meet fellow 'Flamencas', and fill their creative cups.
Our community extends far beyond Mumbai, as you can see from this photo of our singing group in Sevilla, Spain. During our 'Namaste Flamenco Tour', students from India and beyond came together to learn from masters, creating a truly global 'familia' united by a love for this art.
About The SCFA Familia: Our Community Gatherings
Our student gatherings in Bandra go beyond standard training, focusing on the cultural roots of Flamenco through singing circles and film screenings. When you join, you are invited into an intimate circle where we break down the lyrics, share tea, and discuss the emotional context of the cante, giving you a much clearer grasp of the music than what you get in a typical technique class.
At SCFA, we believe Flamenco is not just a solo dance but a shared language. My goal has always been to build a space that feels like home, whether you are a beginner taking your first steps in Bandra or a dedicated student joining our Namaste Flamenco Tour in Sevilla.
What Happens in Our Gatherings?
Our community events are where the theory meets the soul. During our singing circles, we explore the cante, breaking down lyrics so you understand exactly what you are expressing when you dance. We host film screenings that dive into the history of the art form, followed by conversations over tea. These sessions are about demystifying the compas and helping you find your own voice within the tradition.
A Global Familia
The connection does not stop in Mumbai. Through our immersive cultural tours to Andalusia, Spain, students from India and beyond come together to learn from local maestros. We focus on the Pillars of Flamenco—the interaction between song, dance, and guitar. Whether you are learning palmas via Zoom or joining us for a live session in a Khar studio, you are part of a network of passionate learners.
Who Can Join?
I have designed this community for everyone. You do not need to be a professional or speak Spanish. We are all about expression over perfection. If you are curious about Andalusian culture or simply looking to find a new tribe, you are welcome here. Come as you are, and let's dance.
Find the perfect Flamenco experience for you.
