Featured Mehendi Artistry by Shades of Mehendi
A look at my 10-year journey—from intricate bridal portraits to the deep, rich stain of my organic henna. These are the designs I’m most proud of.
This is the kind of full bridal mehendi I love to create. The design is perfectly symmetrical, featuring delicate lotus motifs on the fingers and a dense, traditional pattern that extends up the arm for a truly stunning bridal look.
Drawing deities is a special request I cherish. This portrait of Radha-Krishna on the forearm is an example of the fine-line figure work I can do to bring a spiritual element to your bridal henna.
Your mehendi can tell your story. For this bride, I created a full arm piece with a custom portrait of the couple, their engagement rings, and beautiful rose motifs to celebrate their journey.
Your feet deserve just as much love. This royal-themed bridal foot mehendi features majestic elephants and intricate jharokha patterns, ensuring you look beautiful from head to toe on your wedding day.
I love using negative space to make the main figures stand out. Here, a heart-shaped peacock design on the back of the hand is complemented by a bold lotus pattern on the wrist, creating a modern yet traditional feel.
Come along with me for a mini vlog. This reel shows a typical day for me, traveling in Navi Mumbai for a bridal booking, the process of creating a full lotus-themed design, and the happy bride at the end.
For many of my Maharashtrian brides, a portrait of Vithal-Rakhumai is very special. I take great care to capture the divine details and expressions in my henna art.
The final stain is what it's all about. This photo shows the rich, dark colour of my natural henna on a bride, perfectly complementing her beautiful purple saree and wedding jewellery.
Mehendi isn't just for the bride. I also create custom designs for the groom, like this one featuring the couple's initials, the Saptapadi ritual, and other meaningful symbols.
This is me in my element, completely focused on my art. I often use a reference photo on my phone to make sure every detail of a custom design is drawn to perfection for my client.
About Featured
When you book me, it’s not just about the design; it’s about the finish. I use my own homemade organic henna, mixed fresh for that deep, dark stain everyone wants. For these featured bridal pieces, I personally handle the central motifs and portrait work, while my team assists with the intricate fillers, ensuring we stay on schedule without ever compromising on the detail.
My philosophy is simple: your mehendi should be as unique as your own love story. Over the last decade, I’ve refined a style that balances negative space with dense, traditional motifs to make sure the main elements—like portraits or specific symbols—really stand out. Whether you want a traditional Vithal-Rakhumai motif for a Maharashtrian wedding or a modern portrait of you and your partner, I treat your hands as a canvas for storytelling.
I’m based in Navi Mumbai, but I travel across the Mumbai Metropolitan Area to ensure every bride gets the look they’ve been dreaming of. When we work together, we start with a consultation to finalize the flow of the design. I don't just show up and draw; I help you plan the look so it complements your outfit and jewelry perfectly.
Beyond just the bridal designs, you'll see my love for teaching in the way I approach every booking. I’m a bit of a perfectionist, and I push my assistant team to maintain the same high standards for family members and guests. Whether it's a simple Arabic trail or a full bridal sleeve, the quality of the henna and the precision of the lines are non-negotiable for me.
