Two of my completed Sheldon beanies. This unisex hat pattern features a textured Alpine stitch panel and is shown here in mustard yellow and a blue and white combination.

This is my Diamond Granny hat, a unique take on the classic granny stitch. The stitch markers show my work in progress as I was designing the pattern.

About this collection
Unlike mass-produced headwear, I construct each beanie with a focus on tactile comfort, using premium, non-itchy acrylic-wool blends. I rely on specific techniques like the Alpine stitch for structural warmth or cluster stitches for a soft, puffy finish. Every hat features a ribbed brim to ensure it stays snug without squeezing, making them reliable pieces for mild winters or office AC environments.
Finding Your Perfect Fit
I offer two distinct styles of handmade crochet beanies, each serving a different purpose in your winter wardrobe. My 'Sheldon' beanies utilize the Alpine stitch, which creates a thick, woven-like texture. This provides excellent insulation and durability, making it my top recommendation for those who need a hat that holds its shape well and offers significant warmth.
For those who prefer a softer, more lightweight feel, my 'Flora' beanies are worked using cluster stitches. These hats are airy and puffy, making them ideal for everyday wear in mild climates like Mumbai or for indoor use. Because I crochet these top-down, I can easily adjust the size and length to suit adults or children.
Material and Care
I exclusively use high-quality, 100% premium acrylic or soft acrylic-wool blends. I avoid scratchy fibers because I believe a hat should be something you enjoy wearing, not something you want to take off immediately.
My construction process involves:
- Tight tension stitching to ensure no gaps or cold spots.
- Securely woven ends so the piece does not unravel after multiple washes.
- Ribbed brims that maintain elasticity to keep the hat in place.
These pieces are machine washable on a gentle cycle, which I recommend for busy lifestyles. If you have a specific color combination in mind to match your jacket or scarf, let me know. I am happy to customize the yarn colors for your order.
