I design my crochet bags to be as practical as they are pretty. From roomy project totes that carry your craft supplies to secure, hands-free fanny packs, each piece is stitched with durable materials and a lot of patience.

Here is a side view of my Groovy Daisy crossbody bag, showing how comfortably it sits. It's a versatile piece that can also be worn as a fanny pack, making it a practical choice for hands-free convenience.

This is a full front view of the handmade Groovy Daisy fanny pack. You can clearly see the three bold, floral granny squares that give this crochet bag its signature look.

These are the individual granny squares that form the foundation of my Groovy Daisy bag. Each square is carefully stitched with a bright yellow center and red petals, ready to be joined into a beautiful and functional accessory.

This image highlights the free crochet pattern I created for my Chevron Tulip Bag. I love sharing my designs, and this tote is a great project for those looking to try a chevron stitch pattern.

My Chevron Tulip Bag is shown here filled with colorful yarn, ready for a new project. Its roomy design makes it an ideal project bag for any crafter.

Another look at the Chevron Tulip Bag, showcasing its unique V-shape opening and how easily it holds multiple skeins of yarn. The warm, peachy tones are created with a lovely worsted weight acrylic yarn.

This is the Chevron Tulip Bag in a different colorway, using shades of cream, beige, and pink. The button details on the straps add a lovely finishing touch to this handmade tote.

About this collection

Every bag I make starts with choosing the right yarn for the job. For my Chevron Tulip bags, I use a sturdy, worsted-weight acrylic that holds its shape under load, while my Daisy crossbody bags rely on a tight, consistent tension to keep your essentials secure. I add internal fabric linings to prevent the stretching you sometimes see with handmade crochet, so you get the visual appeal of craft without the sag.

When you look at a handmade bag, the first worry is usually durability. Will it stretch? Will the handles snap? My approach is 'ek dum araam se' (slowly and calmly). By using high-quality mercerized cotton for structure or dense acrylic blends for softness, I ensure every stitch serves a purpose.

Why my crochet bags hold up:

  • Structured Construction: For totes, I prioritize stitch density. This prevents the 'bag sag' that happens when heavy items like books or yarn skeins pull on loose tension.
  • Internal Linings: I build fabric linings into the interior of my shoulder bags and totes. This creates a barrier between your items and the crochet stitches, protecting the integrity of the bag and keeping your smaller items from slipping through.
  • Reinforced Hardware: Whether it is a wooden button closure or a specific strap adjustment, I focus on the connection points where stress is highest.

I treat these bags as functional tools first and art pieces second. Whether you need a Groovy Daisy sling for your phone and keys or a Chevron Tulip tote that fits a full knitting project, the aim is to give you something that lasts through daily use. If you have a specific color palette in mind for an outfit or a gift, I am happy to discuss custom requests. We can work together to pick a yarn weight and pattern that matches what you need to carry.

I am an ex-banker who found peace in the rhythm of a crochet hook. When I am not teaching workshops at my Kanjurmarg studio, I am turning yarn into bags that are actually made to be used, not just admired.
