Sand Art for Social Awareness & Impactful Storytelling

My process for these pieces differs from my commercial work. For stories like 'Silent Struggles' or pieces addressing social injustice, I start with a blank light box and focus on the quietest details—the slope of a shoulder, the grip of a hand, or the focus in a pair of eyes.

Sand is a forgiving medium, yet it is fleeting. It allows me to shift a line in seconds to make a face look softer, more pained, or more resilient. This ephemerality is intentional; these stories about trauma, societal silence, and internal battles are often uncomfortable, and the art reflects that. My goal is to capture the weight of what people carry in silence.

I often work with NGOs, educational institutions, and organizations looking to spark conversation rather than just entertain. Whether we are highlighting a campaign or memorializing a movement, the sand art serves as a bridge. It connects the viewer’s personal experience to the broader reality of the issue at hand.
