- Usage: Best suited for jewelry catalogs, furniture isolation shots, or FMCG packshots.
Preparation
- Product Prep: Basic surface cleaning, dust removal, and steaming for fabrics.
- Props: Minimal usage limited to basic risers, stands, or mannequins to hold the product upright.
- Angles: Standardized views (Front, Side, Top) with quick alignment adjustments.
Thematic Creative Styling
Visual Design
- Set Construction: Creation of small scale sets using textures like water ripples, raw ingredients, or geometric blocks.
- Lighting: Creative use of colored gels to create mood, colored shadows, or dramatic contrast.
- Backgrounds: Textured backdrops like Marble, Wood, Slate, or dual tone colored paper setups.
Props & Execution
- Sourcing: Includes sourcing specific props relevant to the product such as river stones, fresh leaves, lemons, or cosmetic smears.
- Composition: Artistic arrangement of multiple products or pairing with complementary elements.
- Time: Dedication of 1 to 2 hours per concept for arrangement and test shots.
High-Concept Hero Styling
Advanced Techniques
- Action Elements: Styling for 'Levitation' (floating products), liquid splashes in motion, or deconstructed elements.
- Atmospherics: Integration of special effects like smoke, mist, dry ice, or slow motion liquid pours.
- Rigging: Use of fishing lines, acrylic rods, glue guns, and clamps to suspend objects in mid air (for post production composite).
Heavy Duty Production
- Bulk Props: Procurement of large quantities of hero ingredients (e.g., piles of coffee beans, bed of chillies) for immersive environments.
- Shooting Effort: Includes material cost and time for high repetition shooting to capture the perfect splash or smoke swirl.
- Scope: High impact imagery designed for campaign posters, packaging, or hero website headers.
About Creative Direction & Styling
How I Work
I’m all about the process behind that one perfect shot. For me, creative direction and styling is where the real magic happens - not just clicking the shutter. Sometimes it takes hundreds of tries to get that clean, scroll-stopping image. I like showing the behind-the-scenes, not just the final result.
My Approach
- I start with your brand’s vibe. Is it bold, chill, or fancy? We chat about the story you want to tell, then I build a visual concept around it.
- Props and backgrounds matter. I use stuff like water, stones, spices, pearls, and even geometric shapes to set the mood. If you want that minimalist product styling or ingredient-focused food photography, I’m into it.
- Lighting is everything. I use pro gear to shape the scene - soft light for e-comm, dramatic lighting techniques for those moody, high-end shots, or colored lights for a pop look.
Styling Range
- I don’t stick to one style. I do levitating shots for drinks and candies, natural element props for skincare, bold colors for cosmetics, and raw ingredient setups for food.
- If your project needs extra hands, I can bring in other stylists or specialists.
Where I Shoot
I’m based in Mumbai, Pune, and Nashik, but I travel across India for cool projects. Shoots happen in a studio with all the gear needed for creative direction and styling.
