About Traditional Peacock & Elephant Motifs
The key to a great peacock or elephant design is balance. I don't just draw the animal; I surround it with delicate jaal (net) work and fine lines that make the main figures pop. Whether you want the peacock on your palm or the elephant as a forearm accent, I ensure the spacing feels right so the design stays clean and the pattern remains visible against your skin.
Peacocks and elephants are timeless for a reason. They represent grace and prosperity, making them my most requested designs for weddings, Diwali, and Teej. When I draw these, I focus on the curves of the peacock feathers and the bold strength of the elephant silhouette, ensuring they look distinct and artistic.
Why These Motifs Work
These designs offer a perfect blend of tradition and detail. Because they involve intricate line work, they look best when given enough space on the hand or forearm to show off the shading. I often suggest these for festivals or pre-wedding functions where you want your mehendi to stand out in photos.
My Process
I use only my own 100% natural henna paste. No chemicals, just the pure scent of fresh eucalyptus and henna. It takes time to get the shading right, especially on the peacock's plumage, which is why I prefer booking in advance for bridal or large group sessions.
Group Bookings
My team and I often work on multiple guests at weddings. We can replicate these traditional motifs consistently across a group, so everyone gets the same level of detail. If you are planning an event in Mumbai, let me know the guest count and the number of hands involved beforehand so I can arrange the right number of artists for your venue.
