Peacocks for grace and elephants for good luck. These classic motifs are at the heart of traditional mehendi, and I love bringing them to life for your big day.

A beautiful pairing of two classic motifs. This design features elegant peacocks on the forearms and small, charming elephants on the palms, creating a story of grace and strength.

I love making the peacock the hero of the design. Here, the peacock's full, fanned-out tail covers the palm, with its body gracefully resting near the fingers.

Foot mehendi featuring adorable baby elephants. I placed them inside an arched frame, surrounded by lotus petals, creating a design that is both auspicious and charming.

A simple yet elegant design featuring a procession of baby elephants down the center of the hand. This is a lovely choice for guests or for a more minimalist sangeet look.

This design prominently features a caparisoned elephant on the upper forearm, a symbol of royalty and celebration. It is balanced with bands of lotus flowers and other delicate patterns.

In this design, I've placed intricate peacock figures on the palms, framed by dense patterns. The forearms feature architectural domes and swastika motifs for a truly traditional feel.

A collaborative piece filled with detail. This design includes peacocks on the palms, elephants on the forearms, and grand palace domes at the very top, creating a rich tapestry of motifs.

This design shows how different motifs can be arranged in bands. I created rows of small elephants and peacocks, separated by floral and geometric patterns, for a very full and textured look.

The front view of this bridal design showcases peacock figures on the forearms. They are surrounded by a mix of jaal netting and floral work, creating a stunning effect.

A closer look at the elephant motif on the forearm. The crossed-hands pose highlights how the symmetrical design comes together, with the lotus on the palm as a central element.

About Traditional Motifs: Elephants & Peacocks

When I draw these motifs, I do not just sketch an animal. I build a small world around it, usually framing the peacocks or elephants within traditional arches or palace domes. This approach keeps the design clean and ensures each figure stands out against the dense, intricate patterns on the rest of your hand.
