Traditional Mehndi Motifs: Peacocks, Elephants & Palaces
I draw more than just patterns. These traditional motifs bring royalty and beauty to your hands, crafted with my 100% natural, homemade henna paste.
A showcase of traditional motifs, with a royal elephant on one hand and a floral paisley design on the other. The wrist cuff features beautiful lotus flowers.
This design is rich with peacock imagery, using negative space (dark-filled areas) to make the birds stand out. The patterns are different on each hand for a unique look.
A striking design combining peacock and palace motifs. The dark, bold lines create a beautiful contrast, making the henna art pop.

This arm piece combines a palace dome with a beautiful peacock below it, creating a scene inspired by royal Indian art.
A happy client admiring her elegant arm band design, which features a detailed drawing of a palace or temple. This shows how a single piece can be a statement.
A full forearm design showcasing my skill with architectural and animal motifs. It includes a palace, lotus flowers, and a peacock.
A full-hand and arm design dominated by graceful peacock figures. The details in the feathers and the surrounding patterns are meticulously done.
A close-up of the palm featuring two peacocks inside a decorative arch. This is a classic and beloved design for festive occasions.
This design is a celebration of traditional Indian art, featuring peacocks, elephants, and lotus flowers. The fingertips are dipped in henna for a classic bridal finish.
About Traditional Motifs: Peacocks, Elephants & Palaces
These motifs are my specialty because they tell a story of tradition. When I draw a peacock, I focus on the shading of the feathers to make it look alive, and for palace domes, I use sharp, bold lines so the architectural detail pops against your skin. I mix my own 100% natural henna to ensure you get that deep, dark stain that makes these intricate figures stand out for days.
For me, traditional mehndi is about capturing art in the lines.
Why Peacocks and Palaces?
These symbols are timeless for a reason.
- The Peacock: It is a symbol of beauty and grace. I use negative space shading here—this means I fill the areas around the peacock so the bird itself looks bold and clear.
- Elephants and Palaces: These are for the regal look. I use architectural detailing for domes and arches to create a border that frames your hands beautifully. It gives a sense of grandeur perfect for weddings or big celebrations.
My Natural Promise
I never use chemical cones. I mix my own henna paste using only natural ingredients. This is crucial for these heavy, dense designs. Because I spend time on details like the jaal (mesh) work and the shading on these motifs, you need a stain that lasts. My natural henna gives you that dark, rich maroon colour that makes the effort worth it.
