I design my chokers and Hansli collars to sit perfectly on your collarbone. Whether you want a sleek, modern piece for daily wear or a bold, hand-painted statement for a festival, these necklaces bring an earthy, artistic touch to any outfit.

This is my 'hansli' or collar-style necklace, designed to sit elegantly on the neckline for a bold, modern statement. The deep blue is accented with delicate gold patterns, and the set includes a hanging jhumka and matching half-moon earrings.

This statement choker features three large pendants in a paisley and circular design. The purple, gold, and black color combination is regal and perfect for a grand occasion.

About Elegant Chokers & Hansli

Because these are made from hand-molded clay, the fit is unique. My Hansli designs are rigid to sit firmly on the collarbone, so I finish them with adjustable cotton cords. This allows you to tighten or loosen them to suit your neckline, ensuring the piece stays centered throughout the day.

How I Create My Chokers

Every choker and Hansli piece starts as raw, natural clay. I shape, bake, and hand-paint each one myself in my Bengaluru studio. The process involves precise molding to ensure the collar sits correctly without sliding. For the rigid Hansli styles, the clay is fired to be sturdy yet lightweight enough for comfortable wear.

Styling Your Necklace

  • Daily Wear: My geometric and leaf-textured chokers are perfect for the office or casual outings. They are lightweight, simple, and add a pop of color to neutral outfits.
  • Festive & Wedding: My 3D relief collections, featuring deity motifs like Durga or antique gold finishes, are designed for grander occasions. These are heavier and make a bold statement at weddings or traditional ceremonies.

Care Instructions

Terracotta is strong, but it is still baked clay. If you drop these on a hard floor, they can crack. When you are not wearing them, store your necklace in the pouch I provide. To clean, use a dry cloth. Avoid getting them wet to protect the paint and varnish finish. Since these are made to order, please allow 5 to 7 days for me to complete your piece, especially if you have requested custom colors.

I’m Sajjita. My hands are usually covered in clay, but that is the only way to get these Hansli and choker shapes exactly right. I love blending traditional clay techniques with modern patterns, creating pieces that feel as light on your skin as they look bold on your neck.
