About this collection
We don't use standard steel chafing dishes. We design a foraged-theme display using wooden boards, mismatched antique plates, and birdcages to build a visual narrative. Since we customize every setup to fit your event's theme, this process involves a deep dive into your preferences at our Mahalakshmi studio to finalize the floral, lighting, and layout elements.
Visualizing the Menu
When we talk about the 'Basic to Bougie' approach, we mean transforming items like common murukku or khakhra into something your guests won't stop talking about. But the food is only half the battle. A truly successful grazing table acts as an anchor for the room, drawing guests in to interact, photograph, and gather.
How We Style Your Event
We focus on these key design elements to build your display:
- Levels and Height: We avoid flat surfaces. By using wooden risers and antique props, we create visual depth that makes the food feel abundant and welcoming.
- Thematic Objects: Whether it is birdcages for canapés or vintage mirrors for salads, we include items that reflect your personality.
- Lighting and Florals: Soft lighting and fresh flowers are non-negotiable. They set the mood, ensuring the table looks just as stunning during a sundowner as it does during a formal dinner.
Practical Logistics
Because these displays are highly customized, we don't do 'cookie-cutter' packages. The setup requires time on-site for our team to arrange the props and plating. We work closely with your event planners to ensure our tablescapes complement the overall decor rather than clashing with it. If you want a spread that serves as both the main attraction and a conversation starter, we are here to build it for you.
Sage & Saffron
At Sage & Saffron, we think food at weddings should be your story on a plate. We obsess over the details—the mismatched crockery, the lighting, the way the flowers catch the light—because guests might forget the decor, but they’ll remember the vibe.
