About this collection
In school environments, my priority is neatness and durability. I run all cables in protected conduits and lock the network switches in metal racks, so there are no loose wires for students to touch or trip over. Whether it is a computer lab or a corridor CCTV feed, I ensure the connections are solid and the footage stays clear on your monitor.
I treat school installations with extra care because they need to be durable and reliable. When I set up a computer lab, I focus on two things: stable data speed and clean infrastructure.
Network Reliability
I use Cat6 cabling with professional crimping to ensure there is no data loss between your main server and the lab workstations. I do not just leave a modem on a table. I mount everything in 6U or 9U network racks with exhaust fans to keep your switches and routers cool and dust-free. This protects your hardware and keeps the connection steady for students.
Campus Security
For CCTV, I use PoE switches. This means the cameras get power through the same LAN cable that carries the data. No need for messy power plugs near every camera, which keeps the ceiling and wall areas clean. I have worked on government school sites where coverage needs to be wide and uninterrupted. If you have an outdoor area, I use weatherproof cameras and run wires in secure PVC conduits to prevent tampering.
Setup Process
- Site Audit: I check where the main internet line enters and where the cameras need to cover.
- Cable Dressing: I pin everything neatly. No drooping wires.
- Testing: I verify the internet speed on every lab PC and check the playback on the NVR before I hand it over to you.
