Featured Commercial & Editorial Photography
This gallery is a snapshot of my favourite moments where style, lighting, and raw energy collided to create something that demands attention. From bold beauty campaigns to moody editorials, this is how I bring a vision to life.
This is the energy I bring to a cosmetics campaign. It's not just about showing a product; it's about capturing the joy and confidence it inspires. I used bright, clean studio lighting to make the red lipstick pop, ensuring the final image is vibrant, sharp, and full of life.
For this nail lacquer shoot, the goal was perfect, clean execution. I focused on precise lighting to highlight the glossy texture of the polish and the product bottle's details, while keeping the model's skin looking natural and radiant. This is the kind of crisp, commercial work I deliver for beauty brands.
I love playing with shadows and low-key lighting to create something truly artistic. This portrait uses a painterly approach to light, sculpting the model's features and highlighting the warm tones of the gold jewelry against her skin. It shows my ability to create deep, moody, and soulful beauty images.
Skincare photography is all about texture and glow. Here, I've captured the creamy consistency of the product on the skin, using soft lighting to create a healthy, dewy look. The focus is on authenticity, showing real, beautiful skin that clients can connect with.
Capturing movement is one of my specialties. For this shot, I worked with the model to create this dynamic hair toss against a rich, solid background. The studio strobes freeze the motion perfectly, showcasing the hair's volume and flow for a powerful editorial statement.
Stepping out of the studio, I used the golden hour sun to capture this raw and authentic portrait. The warm, natural light brings out the beautiful texture in the model's hair and skin, creating a soft yet impactful image that feels both intimate and powerful.
Monochrome strips away distractions, focusing on form, emotion, and drama. This high-fashion shot uses negative space and the flowing texture of the tulle to create a powerful silhouette. It’s an example of how I build a dramatic, elegant narrative with simple elements.
Beauty isn't just static; it's powerful and energetic. For this fitness-themed editorial, I captured the intensity and strength of the model, using dynamic posing and focused lighting. This shows my versatility in creating beauty stories for athletic and lifestyle brands.
About Featured
When I pull together a shoot for these featured campaigns, I’m not just looking for a clean product image. I’m chasing the lighting setup that makes skin texture glow while ensuring the brand identity stays sharp. It’s a mix of rigorous planning and letting the model’s natural energy take over, which is why I prefer tethered shooting—it lets us see exactly what’s working on the big screen in real-time.
My Studio Workflow
I work out of Studio 1965 in Goregaon, but the space is just a container. What matters is the control I have over the light. Whether I'm crafting a high-end beauty campaign that requires soft, diffused light to highlight a product's finish, or a moody editorial that relies on hard, dramatic shadows, the technical setup is constant. I don't believe in over-retouching. I use frequency separation to clean up a frame while keeping real skin texture intact. If a shot feels fake, I haven't done my job.
The Creative Vision
Fashion photography is a fight, and I’m not here to play it safe. I build teams—stylists, makeup artists, and models—who understand that we are here to create a narrative, not just sell a lipstick or a garment.
My process for these shoots usually breaks down like this:
- Pre-Production: We lock in the mood boards, lighting references, and shot lists. No guessing on set.
- The Shoot: We keep the energy high. If the model feels it, the camera catches it.
- Post-Production: I do the color grading and final retouching myself to ensure the mood we captured on the day stays consistent.
If you are a brand in Mumbai looking for visuals that stop the scroll, this is what you get: raw, honest, and high-impact imagery that actually looks like it belongs in a magazine.
Ruhaan Khan
I’m Ruhaan. I don’t just take photos; I build a vibe. Whether I’m in the studio or out on a location shoot in Mumbai, I’m hunting for that perfect spark where the fashion meets real human energy.
