The Artistic Process Behind Custom Murals and Fine Art
Every piece starts with a feeling, not a plan. Step into my studio to see how sketches, textures, and messy hands transform into the stories that live on your walls.
A portrait of me in my studio, a space where the lines between art and design blur. The large abstract painting behind me is a testament to the idea that it's okay to go after what you want.
My hands following the flow, guided by instinct. This is a quiet, intentional moment where movement becomes a conversation and art begins to take shape on the canvas.
Chaos makes the muse. This video captures the physical sensations that often signal the beginning of a new artwork, a process that is more intuitive than intellectual.
A quick reel showing different moments of my life as an artist, from painting large canvases to working on detailed murals. It's a life of constant creation, of 'art-ing' my way through.
A black and white portrait of me in my studio, surrounded by canvases. The photo captures a moment of quiet reflection, inspired by the strength and resilience of a gladiolus flower.
Brush in hand, existential dread in heart. A candid black and white portrait from my studio that captures the playful and introspective reality of being an artist.
A quiet moment on a stepladder, painting a mountain mural. Art and life move in a quiet rhythm, and in the simplicity of lines and colors, we find truths too soft for words.
A joyful moment while painting a wall mural. For me, the act of creating is often filled with happiness and laughter, a simple and sacred process.
My hand, stained with paint, against a canvas of dripping green. This image is about the tactile, messy, and deeply personal connection between the artist and their materials.
Painting abstract shapes in earthy tones. This is a meditative process where my hands follow the flow, letting the composition emerge organically.
About The Artistic Process
My process is rarely linear because it stems from intuition, not just a brief. I begin by spending time with your space to understand its unique flow and natural light, allowing the concept to emerge through sketches and texture studies. I use a mix of techniques, from large-scale mural painting to layering gold leaf and brass, ensuring the artwork feels like an architectural element of the room rather than something just hung on top of it. This isn't just about paint on a surface, it is about the physical conversation between my hands, the material, and your environment.
How We Build Your Vision
Creating art for a space is a collaborative act. We don't just pick a design off a shelf. Instead, we follow a path that moves from initial feeling to final installation.
1. The Consultation & Concept Before a brush touches a wall, we need to find the right visual language. I work closely with you or your architect to discuss the room's mood, existing upholstery, and architectural features like arches or beams. We go through two rounds of sketches or mood boards to make sure we are speaking the same language before the actual work begins.
2. On-Site vs. Studio Creation Depending on the scope, I either create pieces in my studio (like canvas abstracts or mixed media panels) or come to you for direct wall work. If we are doing a mural, I handle the surface preparation—priming and sealing—to ensure the art lasts. I use high-durability acrylics and clear coats that protect your walls from moisture and daily wear.
3. Material & Technique My work often relies on specific textures. Whether it is fine-line work on a brass plate, layering gold foil for a subtle glow, or creating a large-scale floral mural, the choice of medium is dictated by the story we want to tell. I want the art to shift as you move through the space, offering something new to see from different angles.
4. Longevity Art needs to survive life. Whether I am painting a wardrobe shutter or a ceiling, I apply professional-grade matte or satin sealants. This keeps the colors vibrant and protects the surface from dust and humidity. My goal is to create something that lasts, aging gracefully with your home.
