Saree Draping Classes & Styling Tutorials
Saree draping is an art, and I am here to help you master it. Whether you are a beginner or looking to perfect traditional styles like the Madisar, learn my practical methods for crisp pleats and effortless styling.
Hi everyone, this is a small introduction to my saree pre-pleating process. I explain the essential tools you need, like a good steam iron and ironing table, to get those perfect, crisp pleats, especially for pattu sarees.
In my classes, I often use a mannequin to demonstrate specific techniques like creating neat chest pleats. This allows students to clearly see every step of the process up close before they try it themselves.
This is the traditional Iyer Madisar drape, a style that is very close to my heart. I love teaching and draping this 9-yard saree for special functions and cultural events, keeping our traditions alive.
About Draping Techniques & Tutorials
Getting those sharp, crisp pleats on a Kanchipuram silk saree is all about your ironing prep. Before you even touch the fabric, you need the right steam iron and table setup to handle the weight of heavy silk. In my sessions, I show you exactly how to handle that fabric so your pallu sits perfectly and stays neat all day.
Draping is not just about wearing a saree, it is about understanding how the fabric behaves. In my classes, I break down the science of silk versus synthetic, so you stop struggling with floating pallus and messy pleats.
