Why Saree Draping Means So Much to Me
For me, a saree is never just fabric. Paatheenganna, it’s tradition and emotion rolled together. Every time I help someone drape a saree, especially on big days like weddings, I feel that special connection - adhu oru thani feeling. That’s why I started teaching - I want others to experience this too.
What My Classes Offer
I keep things practical. You’ll learn everything from prepping a silk saree (especially Kanchipuram) to mastering neat chest pleats. Steam ironing, pre-pleating, and folding - all those tiny details matter. I show you methods like hanger folding and box folding so your sarees stay sharp for ages.
We won’t just stick to the basics. You’ll get hands-on with bridal saree draping workshop skills and try out traditional styles, including Madisar draping tutorial. Classes happen with mannequins and real models, so you get real experience.
How You Can Learn
I offer one-on-one sessions in Chennai for personal attention. If you like group energy, join my offline workshops or hop onto online saree draping course sessions. I travel to places like Coimbatore too.

My Story
Hey, naan Soundarya. Saree-na, not just dress pa, it's a whole vibe. I get super emotional seeing those Appa Love moments, especially with my brides. Oru ponnu-ku wedding day is big, and making her look stunning in her saree - that's my joy. I've draped sarees for ladies from Japan, England... their excitement for our culture, adhu romba sandhosham-a irukum (makes me so happy). When I'm free, I'm with my kids or ogling sarees at a family wedding! Teaching saree draping is my passion too. I want to share this art, my love.
