The Artist's Sketchbook: Creative Process & Inspiration

Everything starts with a feeling, a sketch, or a random spark. This is where I piece together the mood, the reference, and the technical details before turning them into something you can wear.

My process often begins with a pencil and paper. Here is a practice sketch inspired by classical art, where I focus on anatomy and form, which helps inform the structure and drape of my garments.

I also create handmade accessories. These are Nordic-inspired pendants I crafted from brass, hand-carving symbols and finishing them with an oxidized coating for an ancient, weathered look.

Inspiration comes from everywhere. A rainy day visit to the Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney provided a perfect mood of gloom and beauty that often finds its way into my work.

Another moment from my visit to the art gallery. The architecture, the weather, and the art itself all combine to create a feeling that I channel back into my designs.

About The Artist's Sketchbook: Process & Inspiration

Before we pick fabrics or sew a single stitch, we have to find the 'why.' My process usually starts with a rough sketch or an obscure mood board, whether it is a classical anatomy study or a gloomy rainy day vibe, to ensure the final garment feels like you, not just another piece off the rack.

Fashion for me is never just about the silhouette. It is about the story underneath. When you look at my sketches, you are seeing the foundation of your future wardrobe. I spend time decoding your abstract ideas, that feeling you have but cannot name, and turning it into technical drawings, material choices, and eventually, a finished piece.

Whether it is hand-painting a denim jacket, carving brass symbols for accessories, or figuring out how to construct a complex 3D-embellished garment, my approach remains the same: meticulous, hands-on, and deeply personal. I believe the best results happen when we collaborate. I keep you in the loop with updates, explaining why a certain fabric drape works or how we can tweak the artwork to fit your personal style.

Living and working in Mumbai, I draw inspiration from the chaos and the quiet moments, from global art to street culture. If you are looking for someone to help you wear your story, let’s talk.
