Behind the Scenes: My Hand-crafted Art and Design Process
Welcome to my studio. Here is a peek at how I mix my architectural training with a bit of paint, thread, and heart to create your custom pieces.
This video shows the process of making a wooden miniature from start to finish. It begins with cutting the MDF board, painting the silhouette, and then adding all the hand-painted details.
A satisfying time-lapse of me illustrating a traditional Marathi couple for a digital invitation. You can see the layers of color and detail coming together to create the final portrait.
Here's another process video showing how I draw a Marathi bride and groom. I start with a simple outline and slowly build up the colors and intricate details of their wedding attire.
I love the flow of drawing fabric. This is a quick process video of me illustrating a beautiful, flowing green ghagra choli for a digital piece.
A throwback to my architecture school days. This is a detailed model I made for a project, showing how my passion for design and building started.
A close-up of the architectural model. Creating these tiny trees and structures requires a lot of patience and a steady hand, skills I use every day in my artwork.
Sometimes I just need to paint for myself. Here's a small canvas painting of a serene sunset over the water, surrounded by my paints and brushes.
A quick showcase of the different kinds of crochet and custom items I make. From sunflower-themed decor to personalized phone stickers, it's all handmade with love.
A rendered view from one of my architectural design projects. I enjoy creating spaces that feel peaceful and connected to nature.
Another render from my architectural portfolio, focusing on an outdoor plaza and children's play area. My design training helps me visualize projects from all angles.
About My Art & Process
When I start a custom project, it is rarely just about the final product. Whether I am sketching a digital invitation or building a scale model, my architectural training dictates the structure, but the details are where the personality comes in. I always start every commission with a rough sketch or a digital render so we are aligned on the vision before the first coat of paint or stitch is even applied.
People often ask how an architect ends up making crochet gajras and hand-painted Antarpats. Honestly, it is all the same brain at work. Design is design, whether it involves a 3D architectural model or a tiny personalized wooden cutout for your home.
My Approach to Custom Work
-
Digital Illustrations: I treat every caricature like a floor plan. Balance, scale, and composition matter just as much as the colors. I draw from your reference photos and keep tweaking until the vibe matches your specific story.
-
Hand-painted Decor: From traditional Antarpats to festive Kandeels, I use high-quality acrylics on durable cotton blends. Because these are hand-painted, they do not look like mass-produced factory items. They have that human touch and slight variations that make them truly yours.
-
Architectural Precision: My training shows up in the 'engineering' of my physical pieces. When I build a custom makhar or a 3D memory frame, I look at structural integrity first. I want your piece to last, not just look good for one day.
My goal is to create something you will actually keep. Whether it is a thumbprint guestbook or a personalized standee, I build these to be heirlooms. If you are curious about a specific design idea or want to know if a particular vision can be built, send me a message on WhatsApp. I am usually around the studio or working on a new project, so I can often give you a quick idea of feasibility right away.
Eroz
I am Sakshi, and Eroz is my creative playground. I use my architecture degree to build your ideas from the ground up, but the messy, handmade details? That is all passion.
