About Costume Design & Styling for Media
How I See Costume Design
I’m Rini, and for me, costume design is about catching a vibe and turning it into something you can actually wear. I chase moods, not just trends. Sometimes it’s wild, sometimes it’s subtle, but it’s always about telling a story with fabric, colour, and shape.
Where You’ve Seen My Work
I’ve worked on everything from big Bollywood and Kollywood films to ad campaigns and photoshoots. Some days I’m sketching out futuristic film costume design for sci-fi movies, other days I’m styling MS Dhoni for a celebrity ad campaign. I’ve even made anime-inspired commercial costumes for brands like Britannia Treat.
Building Worlds & Characters
Films are my playground. I’ve helped create looks for Shah Rukh Khan in Jawan, designed gritty first-impression costumes for SJ Suryah in Killer, and brought AI-generated concepts to life for Krithi Shetty in Love Insurance Kompany. Each project means building a whole world, not just picking clothes.
Styling for Brands & Shoots
Ads and photoshoots need instant impact. I’ve styled everything from rugged biker looks for Honda to Indian bridal photoshoot styling for Riva Arora. Sometimes it’s streetwear, sometimes it’s full-on glam.
My Way of Working
I get hands-on. I’ll hand-paint jackets, make custom patches, and even try stuff on myself to get the fit right. Sourcing is half the fun - I’ll hunt for the perfect piece, or just make it if I can’t find it. Not every idea works, but I love the challenge.

My Story
Hey, I’m Rini. Everything’s a vibe for me, you know? Sometimes I get ideas while wandering in Sydney rain, or just staring at the stars, feeling tiny and amazed. Mumbai is my playground - you’ll catch me painting jackets or stitching on patches, maybe with my cats chilling nearby. I guess I just chase those little sparks, whether it’s travel, art or just a quiet chai break. My style? Kinda wild, always real.
My Work
What I Do - I’m a costume designer and stylist, creative consultant, and I help with art & craft product strategy.
From Idea to Real Thing - Love making wild ideas real - like an AI concept overdress or a quirky tote bag. Custom stuff is my jam.
Projects I’ve Done - Styled ad films (Citroën with Dhoni, Honda), costumes for Tamil movies, and joined color trend forecasting with Nippon Paint.
My Style - Streetwear, custom jackets, baggy pants, Bollywood-inspired jacket design - I like clothes that tell a story.
