Editorial and Desert Fashion Shoots
I turn desert landscapes into high-fashion playgrounds. From flowing kaftans against sand dunes to structured gowns on rocky terrain, these shoots are all about capturing that perfect, raw, editorial magic.
A powerful pose in the desert, with the model looking towards the horizon. The vibrant colors of the kaftan and turban stand out beautifully against the blue sky.
Creating a magical moment with a friendly camel. This shot adds a layer of storytelling and local flavor to the fashion editorial.
A playful and graceful pose next to the camel, showcasing the flowing silhouette of the green and yellow kaftan.
A full-length shot of the maroon boho jumpsuit against a dramatic sunset sky. The draped silhouette and layered silver jewellery create a stunning nomadic-inspired look.
A seated pose in the desert, conveying a sense of peace and connection with the landscape. The styling is designed to feel both fashionable and grounded.
A standing pose that highlights the unique, draped design of the jumpsuit. This is all about creating shapes and silhouettes that interact with the environment.
For this desert editorial, I chose a highly textured, fringed gown in a nude palette that blends with the rocky surroundings. The wet hair look adds a raw, elemental feel.
A dramatic, full-body shot where the model leans against the rocks. The gown's texture and train create a beautiful contrast with the rugged landscape.
A wider shot showing the gown in the context of the vast desert. The styling aims to make the model look like a natural part of this breathtaking scenery.
Another angle of the textured gown, this time under the bright desert sun, highlighting the intricate details of the fabric.
About Editorial & Desert Shoots
Creating these looks is not just about the fabric, it is about physics. Handling a fringe gown in high desert winds or keeping kaftans elegant while walking on shifting sand requires constant adjustments. I always have my kit stocked with professional fashion tape and weights to ensure every silhouette stays exactly where it needs to be, regardless of the gusts.
When we plan an editorial desert shoot, the environment is my biggest collaborator. The desert offers a raw, vast backdrop that demands bold choices. I love pairing textures like heavy fringe or layered silver jewellery against the natural stillness of the sand. My process starts long before we hit the dunes. We build a detailed style deck to align with the photographer's vision for lighting and movement. On the day, it is a full team effort. My assistants and I handle the wardrobe flow, ensuring every fabric is steamed and every hem is pinned. Whether it is a flowing kaftan or a structured jumpsuit, my goal is to make sure the outfit creates a shape that works with the landscape, not against it. We travel across India and to places like Dubai to find these locations. If you have a specific concept in mind, let’s chat about how to bring that narrative to life.
