About Bold & Luxe: Jewelry Styling
When I work on jewelry campaigns, my focus is on light management. I spend time observing how a specific gemstone catches the studio lights, and I coordinate directly with the photographer to adjust angles until the sparkle is perfectly captured. This technical attention to detail, combined with my on-set styling kit for quick garment tweaks, ensures we spend our time creating magic instead of fixing wardrobe malfunctions.
Jewelry styling is a delicate balance of art and logistics. It is not enough to simply place a necklace on a model. The magic happens when the styling, makeup, and lighting align to elevate the piece into a narrative. I work closely with brands in Mumbai and across the country to bridge the gap between a simple product shot and a compelling visual story.
My Process
- Concept & Storyboarding: We do not just shoot. We brainstorm the vibe—whether it is 'dark and moody' with veiled backdrops or 'bright and bold' with vibrant color stories. I create a visual guide so you know exactly how the campaign will feel before we hit the studio.
- Team Coordination: I bring together the crew—photographers, makeup artists, and hair stylists—so you do not have to manage a dozen vendors. We work as one team to keep the energy high.
- On-Set Management: I am present for the full 8 to 10 hours, handling everything from steaming fabrics to perfecting draping and ensuring that high-value jewelry pieces are secured safely while looking their absolute best.
Why It Matters
Jewelry carries emotion. Whether you are showcasing a heritage gold collection or a modern diamond set, the styling needs to be authentic. My approach includes sourcing props and choosing locations that complement the jewelry, not overpower it. If we are shooting outdoors—like on the sand dunes of the UAE or a heritage property in India—I bring my 'jugaad' spirit to manage outdoor elements like wind and shifting light, ensuring we still get that perfect frame.
