Inclusive Music Classes for Special Needs Children in Mumbai
Music is a language every child can speak. We offer tailored 1-on-1 keyboard and piano lessons in Bhandup West for children with diverse learning needs, focusing on development through rhythm and structured play.
Our core program focuses on teaching piano to special needs children. We have experience working with kids who have Down syndrome, attention issues, and other cognitive difficulties, creating a personalized lesson plan for each student at our Bhandup West school.
We use a science-backed approach to teaching. Learning music actively stimulates the brain's motor cortex, prefrontal cortex, and hippocampus, which directly supports the developmental goals of our students, such as improved coordination and behavior.
This is one of our youngest students engaged in a keyboard lesson. Our classes are structured to be fun and accessible, using the visual and tactile nature of the piano to make learning intuitive for children with different learning styles.
About Our Approach to Inclusive Music Education
Before starting a full program, we conduct a 45-minute assessment session. This is not a test, but a chance for us to understand your child’s sensory triggers, motor skill levels, and which teaching pace works best for them. We spend 30 minutes interacting with your child and 15 minutes discussing a roadmap with you, ensuring our approach aligns with your child's specific needs.
Why Music Matters for Development
Our approach is about using music as a therapeutic tool rather than just a performance art. For children with Down syndrome, attention issues, or other developmental challenges, music provides a sensory-rich environment that stimulates the brain's motor cortex, prefrontal cortex, and hippocampus. This helps with behavioral regulation and emotional expression.
How We Teach
We prioritize individual attention because every child learns differently. Every session is strictly 1-on-1 in a sound-dampened studio at our Bhandup West facility.
- Sensory-Friendly Environment: We use digital workstations where we can precisely control volume levels, ensuring the sound is never overwhelming for children with auditory sensitivities.
- Motor Skill Focus: Through targeted finger exercises on the keyboard, we work on fine motor control, hand-eye coordination, and finger independence.
- Behavioral Goals: We use music as a positive reward system to help improve focus, attention span, and patience.
What to Expect
We keep the curriculum flexible and responsive. Whether the goal is hobby-based learning or therapeutic development, we adjust the pace to suit the student. We encourage parents to be part of the process, and we offer a trial session to see how your child responds to the instrument before committing. We provide a consistent, safe space, and we allow one emergency reschedule per month, acknowledging that children have good days and difficult ones.
