Behind the Scenes: How I Preserve Your Wedding Memories
A peek into the messy, magical corner of my studio where your wedding memories come to life. See how I transform your varmalas into pieces you will keep forever.
The first step in preserving your flowers is drying them properly. I use color-changing silica gel to dry the flowers while retaining as much of their natural color as possible.
My workstation might look messy, but to me, it's a happy place full of stories waiting to be told. Each project is a labor of love, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
A little glimpse into my workspace when I'm in the middle of multiple projects. It takes a lot of effort and hard work to complete each piece with finesse.
I've recently added a hashtag symbol to my collection of moulds. Now you can add your wedding hashtag to your monogram lamp or other keepsakes.
About Behind the Scenes: My Handmade Process
It starts with a lot of patience. Before any resin is poured, I carefully dry your flowers using colour-changing silica gel to keep them looking as close to fresh as possible. This stage takes the most time, but it is the secret to making sure your wedding bouquet or varmala keeps its colour for years instead of fading away.
My workspace is almost always messy, but that is simply the reality of being an artist. When you send me your wedding varmalas, kaleeras, or other accessories, they don't just go into a mould.
The Preservation Process
- Drying: I use specialized silica gel to dehydrate your flowers. This draws out moisture without damaging the petals, preserving the original shape and shade. This can take several days depending on the type of flower.
- Composition: Once dry, I arrange the elements. This is where I piece together your story. Whether it is a wedding invitation, a photo, or specific trinkets like a sehra or gana thread, I balance the layout to ensure everything fits perfectly within the frame or lamp.
- Layering: Resin isn't a one-step pour. I pour in thin, precise layers to ensure there are no bubbles and that the 3D items remain exactly where we placed them. This requires a stable environment and a lot of patience in my Noida studio.
- Finishing: After the final pour, the piece cures completely. I then sand the edges, apply a UV-resistant topcoat to prevent yellowing, and add hardware like wall hooks or LED bases.
Everything is handcrafted, right down to the custom moulds I sometimes create to make your piece unique. If you have specific ideas about how you want your wedding elements displayed, just let me know. I love working with couples to create something that feels like home.
