Foundation Obedience and Place Training
Stop the drama and start communicating. I teach you how to build a rock-solid foundation through science-based games, not force. We work on real-world results that last, not just on-field performance.
Precision is key in obedience. Using a simple box, I teach the dog to perform clean, fast changes between sit, down, and stand positions. This method makes learning a clear and enjoyable game for the dog, which you can learn in my workshops.
This is Doofy, a 4-month-old Indie pup who was a handful for his parents. I worked with the owners to teach him place training using positive methods. Now, instead of causing trouble, he knows how to settle in his own spot, creating a calmer home for everyone.
Watch how this dog figures out the "game" of going to its bed through clicker shaping. This type of training is pure mental exercise for the dog. A mentally tired dog is a happy and well-behaved dog.
About Foundation Skills: Obedience & Place Training
Most trainers will show you a dog that listens to them while they hold the leash. That is not training, that is a performance. My goal is to teach you how to handle your dog. In these workshops, we replace harsh correction with operant conditioning, ensuring your dog listens to you, not just the person with the treats.
Training That Makes Sense
When I say I want you to be smarter than your dog, I mean it. Forget about circus tricks or aggressive commands that look good but don't stick. The foundation of a well-behaved dog is not about dominance; it is about communication.
My Workshop Approach
I run these 3-day workshops in Delhi-NCR and Maharashtra because I want to see you working with your dog in person. We limit the batch to 10-12 dogs because you need direct feedback, not a lecture in a crowded room.
We focus on:
- Mental Fatigue: A tired dog is a good dog. We use clicker shaping games to tire your dog out mentally, which is far more effective than just physical running.
- Operant Conditioning: You will learn to mark and reward specific behaviors, making the dog want to offer the correct position, whether it is a Sit, Down, or Stand.
- Place Training: This is your best tool at home. It gives your dog a designated 'chill zone' so you can have your space without constant, unwanted attention-seeking behaviors.
Why This Works
I use a mix of science, including the NEPOPO system, to build clarity. Whether you are dealing with a rescue Indie that needs structure or a high-drive working breed like a Belgian Malinois, the method is the same. It is about teaching your dog to think and make the right choices on their own.
If you are looking for a quick fix or someone to 'do it for you,' this is not for you. But if you want to learn how to fix pulling, reactive behavior, and lack of focus—and you are ready to put in the work—then you are exactly who I want in my workshop.
