I teach foundational commands that act as a bridge between you and your dog. It's not about making them a robot, but about building a language of trust so they can be happy and calm, whether you're at home or out in the world.

The 'place' command is a form of independence training that teaches your dog to relax in a designated spot. It's incredibly useful for managing behavior when guests arrive or for helping anxious dogs feel secure.

The 'look at me' command is one of the first things I teach. It's a powerful tool for grabbing your dog's attention and improving focus, which is essential for training in a world full of distractions.

Reward-based training is the core of my philosophy. It makes your dog want to repeat good behaviors and builds a relationship based on trust and positive communication, avoiding the stress and fear associated with punishment.

Professional grooming can be overwhelming for some dogs. I work on desensitization exercises, like the 'come through' and 'sit' cues in a grooming salon, to help dogs stay calm and tolerate the experience.

About this collection

The biggest mistake most of us make is thinking 'sit' and 'stay' are just obedience tricks. They are actually the building blocks for emotional regulation. When I teach a dog the 'place' command, I am not just asking them to lie down; I am teaching them how to independently calm themselves when guests arrive or when the doorbell rings, which is usually when the real chaos starts for most pet parents.

Beyond Basic Commands

Training is really just communication. When you struggle with your dog, it is often because there is a gap in that language. I focus on positive reinforcement—rewarding the behaviors we want to see more of, rather than scaring them into submission. This changes how your dog views the world; they start looking to you for guidance instead of reacting to every distraction.

Core Skills We Focus On

  • The 'Place' Command: This is your best friend when you have guests over or just need a moment of peace. It teaches your dog that they have a designated 'safe spot' where they can relax, instead of pacing or jumping on visitors.
  • 'Look at Me': This is the foundation of focus. Whether you are on a walk in a crowded park or trying to get their attention at home, this cue breaks their tunnel vision. It is essential for managing reactivity because it helps you redirect their attention before they hit their threshold.

Why Reward-Based Training Works

I don’t believe in harsh corrections. When you train with treats, play, and praise, your dog actually wants to listen. You aren't just teaching a command; you are strengthening your bond. Dogs are smart—if they know that listening to you brings good things, they will choose to listen even when you aren't holding a treat. We keep sessions short, fun, and manageable, making sure both you and your dog feel like you’ve won at the end of the day.
