Proven Dog Training Methods for Real Results
See how I turn obedience training into a game. No force, just science-backed methods that build real focus, confidence, and a bond you can actually feel.
I teach dogs to think for themselves. Here, you see a Malinois learning to push a button to get a reward. This isn't a trick; it's advanced operant conditioning that builds a dog's confidence and problem-solving skills, making training more powerful and reliable.
This is Doofy, a 4-month-old Indie pup who was a handful for his parents. I worked with the owners to teach him place training using positive methods. Now, instead of causing trouble, he knows how to settle in his own spot, creating a calmer home for everyone.
Precision is key in obedience. Using a simple box, I teach the dog to perform clean, fast changes between sit, down, and stand positions. This method makes learning a clear and enjoyable game for the dog, which you can learn in my workshops.
Watch how this dog figures out the "game" of going to its bed through clicker shaping. This type of training is pure mental exercise for the dog. A mentally tired dog is a happy and well-behaved dog.
Training should be fun. This is a behavior shaping session where the dog is so engaged in the process that the reward is just a bonus. This is what happens when you build a dog that loves to work with you.
About Featured
You'll notice in these videos, I don't use harsh corrections to get results. Whether it's a high-drive Malinois or a pet Indie, we use clicker shaping and operant conditioning to turn obedience into a high-value game. If you’re tired of repeating commands that your dog ignores, this is where you learn how to be the person your dog actually wants to listen to.
Why My Methods Work
Training should not feel like a chore for you or your dog. Most people struggle because they treat training as a list of demands rather than a conversation. My approach is rooted in science—specifically, operant conditioning and the NEPOPO® system—to ensure your dog is thinking for themselves, not just mindlessly obeying.
The 3-Day Workshop Experience
My workshops are designed to be hands-on and practical. I limit batches to 10-12 dogs because I need to see the handler’s mechanics as much as the dog’s behavior.
- Working Spot: You get 3 full days of 1-on-1 coaching. We work on engagement, leash handling, and correcting specific issues like reactivity or pulling. You’ll leave with a clear plan to handle your dog in the real world.
- Observer Spot: If you aren't ready for hands-on, the observer spot lets you watch the theory and practice. You'll learn to read body language, understand dog psychology, and see exactly how I apply behavioral shaping in real-time.
What You Will Actually Learn
- Core Obedience: Sit, down, stand, and place, but done with precision.
- Behavioral Shaping: How to get your dog to offer good behavior on their own.
- Mental Exercise: A dog that is mentally exhausted is a happy dog. We move beyond physical exercise to mental stimulation.
- Communication: Learning to read your dog’s posture and energy so you can anticipate problems before they happen.
This isn't about circus tricks. It's about building a relationship where your dog chooses to cooperate because they trust and understand you.
