Certified Dog Trainer Course: Real-World Experience
Training a dog is an art, but training a trainer is my life's work. See how my students from the R1 Academy are getting real results, from basic obedience to handling complex breeds, and preparing to build their own professional careers.
I am proud to showcase the work of my student, Lekhan. Here he is training a rescued Malinois, demonstrating the positive reinforcement techniques he learned at my academy. It is rewarding to see my students not only train dogs but also help those in need.
This is my student, Rajashekhar, putting his skills to the test on a busy street. He is confidently handling a Labrador, practicing obedience commands in a distracting public environment. This is the level of competence my course aims to build.
Another great result from one of my certified trainers. Here they are working with a Beagle, demonstrating a range of commands from 'hands up' to 'play dead' and perfect leash walking. This shows the detailed and fun training methods you will learn.
My students learn to train a variety of powerful breeds. Here is a graduate working with an American Bully, practicing commands and even teaching it to ride safely on a scooter. This is a testament to the versatile skills they develop.
My student Chandan practices advanced retrieval commands with Vajra, a Chocolate Labrador. You will learn to teach complex skills like heeling, dumbbell retrieval, and carrying a basket, making you a highly capable trainer.
My trainer, Lekhan Kumar, demonstrates perfect off-leash control and advanced commands with a Malinois on the road. This level of focus and obedience is what we strive for in our training programs.
It brings me great joy to receive progress videos from my clients. The owner of this Malinois from Sagar sent this clip of them practicing at home after our training. Consistent practice is the key to a well-behaved dog.
About Student Success: Our Graduates in Action
When you join my course, you don’t just watch videos. You are on the ground in Haveri, working with actual working-line breeds like Belgian Malinois and Rottweilers. You learn how to handle aggression, fix leash pulling, and run sessions with real clients. It’s gritty, hands-on, and by the end, you’ll have the confidence to manage any breed.
The R1 Approach to Training
Many trainers rely on theory. I rely on results. My academy focuses on what I call 'conscious training'—understanding how a dog thinks before you ever issue a command. Whether your goal is to handle a pet with behavioral issues or to start a professional business, the path starts with understanding the animal.
What You Will Master
- Practical Handling: You will work with breeds like Belgian Malinois, GSDs, and Rottweilers. You won't just learn commands; you will learn how to handle a dog that refuses to listen (what we call maathu kelalla).
- Behavioral Shaping: No shock collars and no hitting. You will learn to use positive reinforcement to solve leash pulling, food aggression, and separation anxiety.
- Client Coaching: A dog is only as good as its owner. My course teaches you the most important part of the job: how to coach the owner to maintain the results you’ve achieved.
Course Formats
- Residential (Haveri): A 21 to 30-day immersive experience. You live on campus, eat with the team, and work with dogs every single day. This is for those who want to be 100% ready for the field.
- Online Certification: Can't travel? No problem. Through live video calls and curriculum modules, I guide you through the process of training your own dog, teaching you the same professional techniques I use at the academy.
At the end of your training, you receive an ISO certified certificate. But the real prize isn't the paper; it is the moment you see a difficult dog finally respect your lead.
