My Vocal Coaching Approach and Musical Journey
Singing isn't just about hitting notes; it is about being real with yourself. Here is how I teach, from overcoming stage fright to finding your own sound.
I never thought I could sing musical theatre, but I fell in love with Hamilton. This is my take on "Satisfied". It’s proof that with relentless work, you can push past your perceived limits. I bring that same belief in your potential to our lessons.
This was my first time singing after a nasty bout of Granular Pharyngitis. Vocal health is something I take very seriously because I've had my own issues. I teach my students how to use their voice powerfully and how to care for it so it lasts a lifetime.
Here I am hosting a student and mentor concert for a music school. Being part of a musical community is so important. My goal is not just to teach you to sing, but to help you find your place within the larger world of music.
This was my entry for a contest to open for Ronan Keating. Putting yourself out there is a huge step. In our sessions, we work on building the courage to take these chances and developing the skills to back up your ambition.
About My Journey & Teaching Philosophy
I do not teach to create perfect pop stars. Instead, we focus on vocal health and building confidence—even if that means starting with shaky notes or overcoming the fear of being heard. If you have been avoiding singing because you think you cannot, we start exactly where you are, not where you think you should be.
Why I Teach
Music is my safe place, but it has not always been easy. I spent years fighting self-doubt and navigating vocal health issues like granular pharyngitis. Because I had to grind for every note myself, I know that 'perfect' is often the enemy of 'real'. My coaching is built on that experience. I am here to help you navigate your own journey, whether you are a total beginner or an experienced singer looking to sharpen your technique.
The Process
We begin with the basics of vocal health and technique. We work on breath control, pitch correction, and rhythm, but we do it through the music you actually like. Whether you are interested in Bollywood hits, Western pop, or the intricacies of jazz and blues, we use those songs to understand your voice.
What We Work On
- Vocal Health: You cannot sing if you are straining. I teach rehabilitation techniques and habits that ensure your voice lasts a lifetime.
- Confidence Training: Many students freeze up. We work on stage fright and that feeling of 'voice shame' until you are comfortable singing in front of others.
- Theory & Diction: For those who want to go deeper, we analyse time signatures, chord progressions, and even pronunciation for French or Italian classical pieces.
I offer in-person sessions in Bengaluru and online classes. We do not just practice; we make mistakes, we learn from them, and we build your natural voice. My goal is not to shape you into a cookie-cutter performer, but to help you find your unique place in music.
