About Indo-Western & Fusion Statements
Getting the right drape on a cowl kurta is tricky, which is why I prefer working with specific fabric blends like art silk or cotton satin that hold their shape. When you come into my studio, we do not just pick a size off the rack; we adjust the cut of the open jacket and the fall of the kurta to match your height and build perfectly for a sharp look.
My approach to Indo-Western fashion is about balancing the regal feel of traditional Indian ethnic wear with the clean lines of modern tailoring.
Why Fusion Works
For events like a Sangeet, Mehendi, or a reception, a full Sherwani can sometimes feel too heavy. My open Jodhpuri jackets and cowl kurtas offer a middle ground—you look dressy and festive without sacrificing comfort. I use premium materials like heavy-weight velvet and imported poly-viscose blends, ensuring that the structured jackets keep their form throughout the night.
The Rajkamal Process
- Fabric Selection: Whether you want bold reds, pastel shades, or classic navy, we start by picking a fabric that suits your skin tone and the event time.
- Customization: Because I focus on custom designs, every piece is tailored. If you like the embroidery on a Jodhpuri but want it in a different color, we can make that happen.
- Detailing: It is the small things that add up—the handmade buttons, the placement of the beadwork on the lapels, and the way the hemline sits.
If you are confused about what style fits your personality or the venue, come by the shop in Malad. We can try on a few different cuts and see what makes you feel like royalty.
