About The Art of Rajkamal: A Closer Look at Craftsmanship
You will notice the heavy machine embroidery on our velvet sherwanis or the layered pearl detailing on our white sets, but the real test is the construction. We use premium fusing in our jackets to ensure they hold a crisp, regal shape throughout your event, whether you are leading the baraat or posing for wedding portraits.
Heritage Meets Modern Craftsmanship
At Rajkamal, we believe that kapda (fabric) is just the starting point. My approach combines traditional techniques with modern tailoring to ensure every outfit feels like it was made for royalty.
The Anatomy of Our Fits
Every piece in our Malad studio undergoes a rigorous design process. For our Jodhpuri suits and Indo-Western jackets, we use heavy-weight premium velvet or imported suiting blends. The structure is key, which is why we include shoulder pads and standard fusing to maintain that sharp, silhouette-defining shape.
Customization and Attention to Detail
Whether you select a base Kurta set or a heavy groom's sherwani, the finish is where we set ourselves apart.
- Surface Ornamentation: We specialize in dense machine embroidery that mimics the complexity of hand-zardosi, paired with mirror work, sequins, and stone pasting for a luxurious sheen.
- Hardware: From handmade buttons to matte metallic accents, every piece of hardware is chosen to complement the garment’s specific color palette.
- Accessories: A look is never complete without the right drape. We coordinate your safa (turban) and stole with the exact embroidery borders of your coat, ensuring a cohesive, majestic appearance.
Tailored for You
I personally oversee the custom tailoring process. When you book a set, we work through 15 to 25 days of production, including final fitting trials to adjust the fall of the fabric. My goal is to ensure you feel confident and comfortable, whether you are wearing a classic straight-cut sherwani or a modern cowl kurta. If you are near Natraj Market, come by the studio to feel the fabrics and discuss your custom vision.
